Zaph makes great stuff no doubt about it. For a computer monitor or stereo system I like the kit you linked, for a HT speaker I think the DIY sound group kit is tough to beat, although it is more work and would make a tough first project.
Alex, would you kindly post that link for the sound group kit? Thanks
Cheers Jeff

It's more expensive, you have to finish it yourself and put the crossover together yourself, but for a purely HT/fun music speaker that doesn't need to be extraordinarily accurate (not that it's not pretty accurate) it's hard to beat for the money IMO. Don't forget you would have to put 2 of each of the linked below in the cart. So two flat packs and two kits.

If I hadn't gotten the deal I had on the speakers I have I would have seriously considered these. Well, that and they need stands. They were also designed to be crossed over to subs, which is perfect for you.

Well the Fusion doesn't have deep low end extension and wasn't designed to. It was designed to get the most out of the woofer so it'll play loud as sh*t, but needs to be crossed over to a sub for low end reinforcement, aka movies. For music, it really isn't essential, but for movies they definitely need to be crossed (not that you'll have a problem with that :p). I've actually been rolling around the idea of getting one of the kits and have been going back and forth between the Fusion Tempest and the Alpha Zephyr. I had also considered the Pi kits as well, but think I would rather have the Denovo tweeter.

I sure will :D

In the 750-800 range which would you like shady ? How much are the seos ?
Is that 750 to 800 for a set of three speakers or a set of two? The SEOS are not too expensive, $400 at the very most, not including a flat pack cabinet, and that's for the heaviest duty SEOS speaker kit. There are other cheaper designs you can assemble, look around in the DIY Sound Group Forum.

Personally I am waiting to see how the H290c fares against the SEOS 15 wave guide in the shootout that this guy is doing before I decide. I like the idea of a 15" mid woofer, yeah I like overkill, but the SEOS 12 wave guide might not quite be as ideal for a 15" woofer as the SEOS 15 wave guide, and they don't have official kits up for the SEOS 15 yet, although there are SEOS 15 plans around the DIY sound group forum. The H290c is the horn that Pi uses, and it is a proven quantity with very good measurements behind it. With the H290c you can also upgrade the woofer to the JBL 2226, supposedly one of the absolute very best woofers that you can get (note it is not a subwoofer, not intended to be played deep). Pi can also send you a completed crossover in case you don't like soldering.

800 for a pair . Like the mini statements so far . Thinking of building the monitors for the back first , and then when they arrive compare them to my current fronts. If there better then build the front three. I am a woodwork teacher so not worried about the building . I mainly watch action movies in 14 by 28 room
