Yesterday, as you know, was not a good day. The resident doctor told us the results from the MRI were not good. She also told us she was not trained to read an MRI, but knew how. This makes me think of a car commercial that states, "I'll fix it, but I ain't guaranteeing it." The fact is, she was wrong. The MRI reading was good. Not fantastic, but certainly not bad. We don't have the facts from the MRI, but we have been assured it is a good reading, and that the resident doctor made a huge mistake telling us what she did. I am not angry at her. It seems that God works on his own time.:) Pretty sure he was busy yesterday.;) He was with my daughter today. She would be asleep, and just start smilling. Not grinning. Full blown, deep sleep, and just start smilling.:D Today was the first time my wife tried to breast feed. She was able to feed both of the feedings that were due during the time we were there. My daughter is still on Phenobarbital, but nothing else. She is taking it orally now. Visually, she seems to be better every day.:)

Good news! Lets keep it coming now.;)

ZUMBO, this is great to hear keep the good news coming, before you know it you will be at home on the couch watching Ratatoullie on your home theater with your daughter in your arms.
THATS CRAZY THAT THE RESIDENT DR EVEN REVEALED THE RESULTS OF THE MRI, IF SHE IS NOT TRAINED SHE SHOULD HAVE ZIPPED IT, REMINDS ME OF MY FRIEND WHO WAS TOLD BEFORE THEIR BABIES BIRTH THAT THEIR BABY HAD DOWNS SYNDROME, THEY DID EVERTYTHING THEY COULD TO LEARN ABOUT THE DISEASE INCLUDING GOING TO SOME CLASSES, THE DAY COMES TO HAVE THE BABY AND THE BABY IS 100% HEALTHY. MY WIFE AND I DECIDED WE DONT WANT ANY TESTS BEFORE OUR BABY COMES TO DETECT AND DEFECTS, WE ARE FINDING OUT TOMMOR IF IT IS A BOY OR GIRL THEN WE WONT VISIT THE DR UNTIL DELIVERY DAY IN APRIL
GOOD LUCK

i'd say that was good news. you will all pull through this. i wouldn't fault the resident doctor as well, i'd rather hear the worse and get good news than hear good news and get bad news.

Excellent news. As I mentioned before its easier to diagonse a newborn with issues with a less than otimistic point of view. As they say its to early to tell but....blah blah, and feel we must now warn/inform you about. We heard it all and for nearly 2yrs saw a dozen specialists, but now he has a clean bill of health and is a very active 6yr old:D.

Z,

Great to hear the news; this home continues to pray for you several times a day.

I bet in 3 months you will be on here saying my Paradigms suck and I will be telling everyone that you have a Bose (jut like the old days) I cant wait until the day you get on here and post a thread about Cayla dropping a baby doll in the port of your sub. I bet when we here that we will all laugh along with the tears that are running down our faces.

Every day I wait to read the Baby Zumbo news with a combination of hope and worry. The balance overall is looking good. We all hope and pray that it continues. It's actually good that the radiologist didn't feel the need to explain the MRI results to you.

Hang in there. It seems like Cayla is in good hands. Make sure you and your wife remember to eat and sleep, and most of all, take care of eachother while you wait for the day to bring your baby home.

wow! my prayers are also with you.
This really took me back in time. My son had some of the same complications when he was born. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
He is now a Jr at AULA(Antioch University Los Angeles). He has some learning disabilities but has overcome them. He has grown into an awesome young man and is planning on becoming a teacher when he graduates.

Love & Prayers for Cayla
