B&W Studio Speakers

What B&W speakers would you consider to be a great assets for a music studio? Price would be anything from 200-600 a pair or each, don't matter.

B&W offers speakers excellent for studio monitor use, but they start very high in price. For example, the 802D is extremely linear and has NO audible cabinet resonances. A very rare feature. It provided for timbre distortion free sound reproduction. Unfortunately, it starts at about $12,000.00 per pair. I would probably suggest other speakers for studio use other than B&W at lower prices. Ascend acoustics offers some speakers that are low cost but very linear -- but have substantial cabinet resonance like almost all other speakers.

The truth is that my cousin is working in a B&W store and I planned to take full advantage of it. I need something that is really good, but really good that can last me for a long time and have great sound from it. A speaker with a high, mid and low would be great.

In that case, the best value it seems to me, would be the B&W CM7. The small tower units. The street price is $900 each, so I would guess the store cost is in the $600-$700 each range, which puts it at the top of the price range you specified. If I had to have speakers in that price range, this would be one of my top contenders.
