Under your User CP go to edit options and about halfway down the page there is the option to turn avatars off along with sigs and images.

Almost. :) It's been problematic getting good DSL here. The company who gives us our phone service can't supply DSL to our neighborhood. Another company can, but it'd be a hassle.

We hope to get cable broadband by the end of the year.

Thanks, Matt. I like seeing the avatars and sigs, though. I can live with my speed as it is now; I just wouldn't want each page to grow.

A 120x75 image will load up fast.

I mean, come'on who WOULDN'T want to see this every time they open a thread...

some of the forums I go to have 150x150, some have somewhere in between 150 and the 64 here

Vancouver civics will let it be as big as the original file... but if you make it huge, people will get annoyed.
