AudioQuest RCA interconnects or MonoPrice RCA Interconnects - Which?

Sorry, late to the game. I generally avoid any thread with the term AudioQuest in it.
You've gotten excellent advice from eveyone who has posted.
I'm most in alignment with Irv.
Unfortunately, I have mostly Monoprice interconnects (which were dirt cheap). They are so stiff, I have had problems with a connection working it's way off the terminal (to the point of hearing distortion and wondering if a tweeter was damaged). I have resolved the issue by pulling apart the right and left wires about 10-12" back so both wires can flex easily to the terminals without "fighting" against each other.
From all I have heard BJC produces high functional-quality cables which would be nice to own without being outrageous in price.
Since you have the background for DIY, it makes sense to price it out and see how much you can save...or you may just want to make your own because you can! You should be able to save money over BJC. It just depends on what your time is worth and whether you would look at it as a task vs, something you would enjoy.
GeneC's option looks pretty interesting, but I am not sure if you can remove the third cable!
Thanks again Kew, you never fail of "consider worthy" advice! Thanks for spending the time... :)

Component video cables can be used as audio interconnects. I've been using component cables between my cd/dvd/br players and receivers for years. And yes, the third cable be can easily removed. Do it twice and you have a third set.
Not sure these are so easy to separate third cable (photo of Monster THX 600 Ultra cable from ebay):

If it is a soft rubber, you could probably cut it off of each cable, but if a hard plastic, may have to saw between 2nd and 3rd cable.

One little (ok, major) correction to my earlier post… I did not in fact buy audio quest cables, I don't know why I thought I did… In fact I bought mediabridge cables which have worked fine for me. Sorry about that. O-)

Sounds like a case of senioritis; or, based on your avatar, nosleepitis!:)
I've been pretty happy with MediaBridge as well.

Ya, those might be a bit more of a challenge. How about two for the analog audio and one as digital coaxial? At least the third one wouldn't dangle!

I bought a few AR Pro Series component cables off ebay a while back. $10 a set for 3' cables. The Pro Series have better connectors (probably doesn't make much difference) but they are a little stiff.

I still giggle when I look at the AR Master series though. Those things are huge! The cable is as thick as your pinky. The screw-down connectors are a great idea.

Also bought some (quite a few actually) Esoteric branded audio/video cables NIB off ebay. They look expensive but I had a connector pull apart from one of the cables. I throw them in as "freebies" when I sell stuff on Ebay, CL, etc.

MonoPrice Premium cables are also a little stiif. And their connectors can fail if they're un-plugged a lot as I tend to do. Happened to me a couple of times.

Biggest problem with component cables is the shortest you'll find is three feet. But they're generally shielded better then audio cables which must be a good thing.
