Has anyone ever bought anything from the Audioholics store? I sure tried and got my order cancelled without any phonecall, email or other notification. Not only that but when I called their customer support a reason wasn't given, and now they won't honor the price for the Bluray player I tried to buy. And the GM has been notified and I havent gotten a call back. They say they are better than Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc, but I have never had a problem with them honoring prices or getting a phone call back from a manager to explain any problems I may have had.

I've purchased my EMP speakers through them and had no problems, I called to confirm a tracking number and they were quite courteous, sorry to hear you're having trouble!

I noticed the thread you created over on the blu-ray.com forums. Since you used a coupon code (SAVE40) that is supposed to be only used on the items in this category, your order was cancelled. We do not discount that player on its own, ever. As the poster over there said, "Seems we all agree it was an error in their system - can't really fault 'em for that. Nice try, though".

You are correct, I did use that coupon code, which was valid at the time of use. It may not have been advertised, but it worked and the discount was taken off. I still have not received a call back from your GM about the issue, which I requested multiple times. Although reluctantly, I understand if that price cannot be honored, but a deal of some sort should definitely be made. Order #206039, get someone on it.

You want a deal on the Oppo?

http://store.audioholics.com/product/2784/1/yamaha-rx-v665-oppo-bdp-83-package

There are no discounts on Oppo blurays. They do not discount to anybody. Contact Oppo directly about possible B-stock if you want it cheaper.
Its not the deal, although one would be awesome. Its the fact that you guys rip on B&M stores and are not better. All I wanted was a little customer service, and got none. Audioholics store has been no better than those stores. Here is a quote on why to buy from you. Its not my fault you guys had a coupon code active, its yours. You guys should be either eating the loss or find me the most comparable product with a darn good deal.

"Audioholics Store is highly unique. Never before has a site been developed from the ground up by people more interested in AV products and community than in making money. We hope consumer reaction is: "Finally! An AV store built by the same type of people who shop there!"

I don't want to step in anything, and I haven't read any other threads that might be discussing this, but I'll give my thoughts. If I go to a B&M store, and they have an incorrect price on the shelf - they give me that price. They marked it that way, and they honor it. If an internet business marks a product at a certain price (with a coupon code or not), I think that they should honor it. If you don't want a product to sell at a certain price, don't have it come up at that price. Just my two cents.

I completely disagree. We are probably the easiest store to deal with on the net regarding returns, restocking, etc if you are unsatisfied with a purchase. We will bend over backwards to please every customer, so long as we don't feel like they are trying to take advantage of us.

The SAVE20/30/40/50 coupon codes are only valid for the products that are listed in the respective clearance categories, period. If there is a glitch - as happens once in a while - we always void the transaction. Your credit card was not charged as a result.

You even admitted in the blu-ray.com forum thread that you created that you jumped on it because you knew it was a mistake, and encouraged others to take advantage with the response "as many people as possible should get this deal before its figured out by audioholics."

you guys in the US are pretty spoiled.

sure, the store had a bug which let that coupon go through.

i'm sorry, but you tried to get around the system, then you tried to gloss over it with your first post and you expect to be rewarded with something.

over here in the Philippines, if i did the same, i'd get the finger if i was lucky.

Hey, maybe they'll just give you the Oppo player for free just for the heck of it?

We can keep this conversation to one website. Also, is the sarcasm really necessary. I told you its not about getting the player for $300 anymore, I just want some customer service to talk to me and try to resolve the issue. This was actually a birthday gift, which would have gone undelivered and unnoticed if I hadn't checked my order status online. Two emails were actually sent confirming my order, and nothing saying it had been canceled. How do you think I would have felt had I not been able to give my dad a gift on his birthday if I hadn't noticed it in time.

We never have and probably never will offer the Oppo blu-ray player at a discount, unless sold in a package like the earlier poster mentioned.

Of course Im going to try and get a deal if I can, who wouldn't? Why pay $500 when I can pay $300. I wasnt scheming or trying to get around the system. They system did that on its own and I was lucky to randomly try a code and it worked. Bluray.com and audioholics.com have a hotdeals thread so that people can find good deals on products. That was a good deal and I posted it as I should have.

I understand that, I told you its not about the price at this point. All its about is trying to get some damn service. You guys have done nothing to try and retain a future customer. I would not ever rule out a company if they give me the best service they can, but that hasnt happened.

By the way, I assumed it was a mistake, I didn't know it was a mistake. They are very different. Maybe you guys had just put a few hidden/unadvertised items on discount. Retailers/e-tailers do it all the time.

From your point of view, it wasn't. You assumed you were taking advantage of an error.

Is there a politically correct way to mildly bash a stores policy and still get a discount from said store ? I think if the answer is yes then there are internet stores all over the country that owe me some major discounts :) The local stores would have to just give the merchandise to me , free.

Do you really mean to tell me that if you were in the market for a good bluray player and thought you had a chance to get the Oppo BDP83 for $300 that you wouldnt try to take advantage of it? I don't think any consumer in their right mind wouldnt try to make the purchase.

yes, we would.

but we wouldn't go complaining about it if it didn't work.
