One hell of a weekend. I'm 3 for 4. Lost the bears game. The Colts came back, but, there were some real bad calls in that game. Pittsburg going all the way baby!

I don't get the CBS games in 5.1. But I do get the FOX games in 5.1, they are awesome. I cant wait to see the SB in 5.1 being that it is on ABC, and that is in 5.1 in my area.

Talk about ballsy!! Do you really think it is wise to bet against the team that this year will lock up the claim as the #1 team of all time in NFL?!?!?!? Come on haven't you people learned? Payton can't even get to the big game let alone win it.

Looks like this is my meal for the week

the Pats look god awful and did not deserve to go on. Ah well April is coming up fast and we can all resume watching a better sport:D

I have a rule that I always root for the team that beats the Pats so...

GO BRONCOS!!

The thing I did note about that last interception call was that the commentators never watched it play back in real time (all the while acting dumbfounded by the final call). While it's easy to watch the 5 second playback of the slo-mo clip, the refs, I believe, also watched it in real time and realized that he rolled over and lost the ball before he got out of a "down" position. So, the entire process of catch and drop wasn't even 1/2 second.

We get so used to slo-mos we all forget that it doesn't happen that slow.

Would have been awesome if it had gone into overtime - great game and a solid win by Pittsburg, though I get bored watching teams that don't throw as much. They were so conservative in the second half trying to hold their lead I was getting impatient.

I TIVO'd it and watched it several times, the thing is, on the field it was called an int, so I just couldn't understand how they saw enough to overturn it. Then there were quite a few no calls on some blatant holding, and that was disturbing to me (one instance was a sweep right James was running and Hampton was tackled from behind).

Well that's Steeler football, get a lead and then make them hurt. I can’t wait for the Broncos game (although I really wanted to play the Pats), we match up with them pretty well, and it should be a good game. Of course, all of you know the Super Bowl is really this Sunday. I don’t think that the Panthers or the Seahawks will have any kind of shot against the Steelers or Broncos.

My Picks:
Pittsburgh over Denver
Seattle over Carolina (this is subject to change depending on Alexanders status)

Many people forget that this is the same Steelers team that went 15-1 last year (minus Burress). The only reason we were 11-5 instead of 13-3 is because Tommy Maddox lost 2 games that we really should have won.

So you are going to become a Broncos fan? Ok, good luck:D

Alright, dude, I'll talk some football (are you lonely?).

Seahawks vs. Panthers. I love Mike Holmgren. I was a big fan of his when he was in San Francisco, and I was an even bigger fan of his when he was in Green Bay. He put the Packers back on the map. Anyway, back to the game. I've never seen a player dominate a game like Steve Smith did against Chicago. Either the Bears were way overrated, or Smith is the best receiver in the league right now. With the Panthers RB going down, the whole game is in the hands of Delhomme and Smith. If I was Seattle, I would triple team Smith. They simply cannot let that guy get his hands on the ball. If Alexander is healthy, Seahawks should win this game.

Steelers vs. Broncos. I look for the Steelers to try and get an early lead again like last week. They'll come out throwing the ball (weather depending of course). I haven't watched any of Denver's games this year except last week against New England - it was hard to tell how good they are because the Patriots just handed them that game. Jake the Snake didn't impress me much though. The Steelers under Cowher have a history of losing. The Broncos under Shanahan have won the whole thing. I group the Steelers right there with the Colts and the Vikings. No matter how talented these teams are, they always find a way to lose. The Steelers tried hard to lose last week but they couldn't quite pull it off. This week they will find a way to hand the game to the Broncos. Sorry MacManNM :( .

Ah, my team is still home in Jersey getting drunk and crying.

But I still have to cheer for the NFC teams. And I do love the Pacific Northwest.................

I don't think Alexander is really the key to this game. I don't expect the hawks to be able to run the ball that well even with him. I think Hasselbeck is the one that is going to control this game. If he plays a good solid game, then they will win. If he implodes then they are in big trouble. And yes the Bears were overrated, come on, they are in the NFC north! Then on top of that they drew the AFC north this year, where they went 2-2. This will prove to be an interesting game, I can't wait to watch it.

Yes Cowher in previous years has lost the big games. I think it is different this year, all of the previous losses, he has come out and gotten out of his game plan the first sign of failure. I don't think this is going to happen this year, I think this team has a dynamic that his other teams haven't. I think he believes in this team. Plus this is the first real quarterback the Steelers have had since Niel O'donnel. Don't forget that denver had a pretty soft schedule. They played a 2nd place schedule, drew the NFC east (which none of those teams were consistant this year), and got wins against Balt, Jets, NE, and Buffalo during the season. Not exactly tough competition.

I don't think that they tried to loose the game, I think the Ref's tried to give the game to Indy, I mean, the whole country (except the steelers nation, and possibly NE fans) was rooting for them to win it all.

Oh yeah, when Shanahan won it all, he had a Hall of fame quarterback. Jake the snake? No way. Just my 2c.:)

Alexander should prove key only if the game stays close. Seahawks run a lot out of 3 wr sets & when they have some success throwing even short passes it opens the run. Pretty elementary I know, & opposite of most mindsets. The 2nd hf is when he could be quite effective............providing the 'hawks haven't put themselves behind with mistakes.

If the hawks db's don't trip on their own feet like the bears' did then I doubt we'll see Smith repeat his 200+ yd performance.

Go Hawks!

The weather in Denver looks to be in the 30's and partly cloudy. What does this mean? Nothing, except that the passing game for both teams will be on display. The quarterback matchup is interesting - Roethlisberger is only in his second year, and the Snake is seemingly reborn after a career of unfulfilled promise. Frankly, I'm not as informed about the AFC but I think this game will be decided at the line of scrimmage. Whichever quarterback gets time to throw will make fewer mistakes and will come out ahead.

I have to pick the home team. Denver, 28-24.

Seattle's weather looks good too. If we had big, cold rain it could affect the warm weather pansies and work against the Delhomme/Smith hookup. But, it won't. Much of the talk around town is focusing on this tandem, for good reason. The Seattle secondary has been our achilles heel all year. We're not that good to start and we've been injured at positions with little depth.

But, I'll be surprised if we can't run the ball. There are three Pro-bowlers on the offensive line and the unit as a whole has been outstanding this year. Hasselbeck is mobile enough to escape when protection breaks down and though he has a tendency to force a play or two a game, this won't be enough to stem the tide. Alexander's concussion was mild, he practiced Wednesday, and Holmgren says he's playing, 100%.

Smith has a big game, but not like last week. Even though the Seattle secondary is weak, our run defense was in the top 5 and Carolina's running game is not a big threat, with Foster out as their second back. A third-tier back will allow Seattle to focus sufficiently on Smith.

Further weakening the Panthers' position are their other injuries. 7 players didn't practice Wednesday including Julius Peppers. Only 2 of the 7 were listed as probable (75%). The rest, including Peppers, were questionable (50%). Carolina didn't get a week off, this is their third week in a row traveling, and this is the longest trip they can make.

Seattle wins, 34-20.
