Mac, I'll give you a shot to redeem yourself. Now correct this grammar - and don't say "what's wrong with it?" I'll give you some hints. :)

I’d be willing to bet you haven’t ever even been to Pittsburgh. You are definitely a know it all. Politics, audio, football, man what else do you know everything about? I bet your not much over 25 yrs old.

All these assumptions about the 'Hawks

Come on, the 'Hawks better not underestimate the 'Skins, or they will be crying into their lattes come Saturday night.

Skins are a dangerous team, D is solid right now, Offense is a sleeping giant.

It should be a better game than that ugly win last weekend.

Nostradumbass of the Gridiron..

Classic how you think the Giants "really didn't have a chance" last week, but the Steelers did?!??

Believe me, I'm not one to hop on the Carson Palmer band wagon, he needs to prove himself another year or two (preferably w/out spending the majority of it on the sidelines), but if he didn't go down in the second play of the Bengals first possession, it's very likely your beloved Steelers would be watching this weekend from the comfort of their home.

I don't think the Steelers could put a hurtin' on anyone right now. Not to say they're not a playoff caliber team, but they certainly aren't as dominant as they were last year (besides that hideous 41-27 showing last January at home) and will need a few breaks to beat the Colts on Sunday.

Claiming the Patriots' wins don't mean anything because the talent level in the league has deteriorated over the years is just as narrow-minded as any of the other fanatical zealots that you see on some of the sports discussion boards. I might be going out on a limb, but would you be saying the same thing if they won it all in 2001 and/or last year? Honestly?

New England is having a good run right now, that's how things go in the NFL. Pittsburgh had a good run from '75-79, San Fran from '82-'90, Dallas from '93-'96 and '71-'79 and Miami from '72-'74, it's cyclical.

No matter who winds up in the extra large super bowl, the next four games should be pretty exciting... -TD

The Detroit Lions have been out of that cycle since 1957.

True, but if they get the right folks in the front office (e.g., not Matt Millen), the right coach/coaching staff, they could see their glory days, too...

Had Palmer played the entire game, the result would've been the same. Cincinnati just isn't there yet. Just like the Bears. The Colts are not a shoe in for the AFC, right now it is up for grabs. Any of the 4 teams left could beat or be beat on any given day. As streaky as the NFC is, it's kind of the same way. Look the Pats, in 85 made it to the dance, as did the falcons in 99. The bills got there how many times, but couldn't close the deal, and they were prob the best team in the league, talent wise. This game is wacky and crazy; you never know what is going to happen.

Anyone see this at ESPN.com?

• Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET) | Scouting report
There is a good likelihood the Colts-Steelers game could end up looking a lot like the Colts' 26-7 win on "Monday Night Football" in Week 12. The key for the Colts is jumping out to a lead.

But that probably won't be as easy as it was in the first game. The Colts can't count on catching Steelers CB Ike Taylor napping on the first play for an 80-yard touchdown pass. Thanks to that opening play and a field-goal drive, the Colts had a 10-0 lead before the Steelers' defense could settle into a rhythm to frustrate the Colts with its nickel defense.

Coach **** LeBeau's nickel defense is a challenge for Peyton Manning and the Colts. The nickel features two linebackers who rush from the ends and two defensive linemen who line up at tackle. That gives LeBeau seven defenders, mostly defensive backs, to mix into coverage or to blitz from any different area.

The problem facing LeBeau is what the Bengals did to the Steelers' nickel package. In Cincinnati's 38-31 victory over the Steelers on Dec. 4, Bengals offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski found the best way to frustrate the Steelers' nickel package. He'd line up three receivers to force them into nickel. If the two defensive tackles were Aaron Smith, an end in the 3-4, and Kimo von Oelhoffen, Bratkowski would run the ball with Rudi Johnson because nose tackle Casey Hampton wasn't in the lineup.

That strategy forced the Steelers to go back to some 3-4 alignments, with Hampton in the game to stop Johnson. But when the Steelers went back to that alignment, the Bengals had Carson Palmer try to find the best matchup of a receiver against a Steelers linebacker. That game of chess went on the entire afternoon.

Manning will try to do the same, and he'll have the tapes from the Steelers-Bengals games to try to figure out how to beat LeBeau's complicated schemes. The best guess is that the Colts will stay with the strategy of using TE Dallas Clark as the third receiver instead of Brandon Stokley.

Expect Manning to put Clark in the slot. By doing that, it forces LeBeau to make a decision about where to play S Troy Polamalu. If Polamalu has to cover Clark man-to-man, it could remove Polamalu from the middle of the field, where he is the most effective. Because he lines up everywhere, Polamalu is a threat as an extra run defender or a blitzer or a safety who can help in double coverage.

If Hampton is out of the game, Manning will be content handing the ball off to Edgerrin James with one of the Steelers' best run defenders on the sidelines.

Offensively, the Steelers will be better than the last time they saw the Colts because Ben Roethlisberger is healthy and improving. He's more relaxed now. He showed that in the victory over the Bengals. He won't take the chances he might have in past games. But he might not have the luxury of being patient in this game.

The Colts probably will contain Steelers RB Willie Parker, who had only 43 yards in the first game. The Colts have the quickness on defense to contain Parker. If the Colts jump to a lead, it will take the Steelers out of their running game and force Roethlisberger to throw.

The Colts force opponents to make every possession count. If opponents go a number of possessions without putting points on the board, they usually fall 10 points behind because the Colts move the ball, control the clock and get field goals or touchdowns. The Steelers' defense is good enough to hold the Colts to a few more field goals than touchdowns, but Manning eventually finds the end zone.

With the crowd-noise problems that will plague Roethlisberger and the Steelers, it will be tough for them to put up enough points to pull out this victory.

John Clayton

Picking the Steelers over the Colts is the biggest upset of the weekend according to Vegas odds. We'll see...

My Audioholics logo is safe for now.... :)

PS. Worst commercial: What overpaid marketing genius decided that a middle-aged southern guy rapping along to a rip-off of "Bust a Move" would be a great way to sell Ford F-150s? Talk about not understanding your target market.

Oh well

Man,

that game was in their hands, to knock out Alexander in the first quarter, get three gift fumbles, and to lose like that.

Sleeping midget offense was still there from the last few weeks.

I still am trying to figure out why they didn't go for it on 4 and 4 after getting that fumble. They were down 10-17, and the field goal really didn't do anything for them considering the way the day had gone.

There is always next year....

Steelers/Colts game

OMG, that was a game of emotions. One of the worst calls in football I've ever seen made that game one of the better endings I've seen in awhile. I bet Bettis is relieved. ;)

MacManNM is one happy man right now. I bet the beer is flowing in that household. Better run out and get more Miller High Life.

I'd love to see the Bears make another run at glory. It's been too long for them.

If you are talking about the Polamalu interception, I agree with you. There is no way that wasn't a pick. Oh well, didn't matter in the end.

Indianapolis. They just find a way to blow it - every year!!

Yep, I glad to see the Colts flushed yet again!:D Peyton Manning is definately his generations' Dan Marino- piles of yards and mountains of stats, but no chance in hell of every being a champion!:p

The logo is AWESOME. I've got some relatives in Knoxville who are always crying the blues why Peyton Manning didn't win the Heisman. Maybe now they'll shut up and realize he's not a closer.

BTW, how nice is it to enjoy NFL in HD? Man, it's never been this good, especially in surround.
