Atmos config confusion

Hello
Marantz 7702, 11.1 Atmos amp assignment with 4 height channels, test tones confirmed, amp assignment seems accurate but back heights show as none active. Apple 4k source, Netflix top subscription so it decodes Atmos.
Is it a APPLE tv setting?
Any help appreciated.

If you want to use Dolby to decode Atmos, turn Dolby Atmos back ON in the Apple TV 4K audio settings if you have turned it OFF to use the Auro-3D up mixer.

If Dolby Atmos is set to OFF in the Apple TV 4K, Dolby Surround can be selected as the up mixer in the Marantz but a multichannel PCM signal will be detected by the Marantz as the signal in play for Dolby Atmos tracks and Atmos metadata will not be detected and processed accordingly.

Double check the amp assignments and connections if certain channels produce no sound.

Thing is, Blu Ray Ultra disc are fine, so it's not the settings in Marantz as far as I can tell. Apple is set to Auto, Atmos Available, change format is off , Dolby Atmos is on.

What is displayed as the incoming signal on the Marantz for discs compared to streams when playing Dolby Atmos content? All content labeled as Dolby Atmos on a given streaming service and played on the Apple TV 4K may not actually be output as Dolby Atmos. You will know it if the incoming signal is displayed as multichannel PCM rather than Dolby atmos.

If using a straight decode of a multichannel PCM 7.1 signal, there will be no sound output from the height speakers at all. One of the up mixers will need to be applied to it as you noticed.

I'm assuming the speaker configuration 7.1.4 with heights in ceiling. Is that right?

It's 11.1 (4 heights) in Marantz lingo.
The front height work, back is displayed and white, not active. But upmixing works, ultra 4k Atmos disc's are fine. It's confusing.

It’s actually 7.1.4

Push the movie button and select the one you want.
It's not that simple, I'm at a loss why Atmos signal refuses to activate the rear heights, they show in the speaker configuration but won't go live, but ultra disc's are fine. So it's not within the Marantz as far as I can tell

What is the sound mode in use when playing Dolby Atmos tracks using blu-ray discs? Sound mode when streaming Dolby Atmos from Apple TV 4K?

Both are Atmos on the info screen, but for confused reasons Apple simply won't get the rear heights active. Absolutely everything else is fine, and again rears are active on Ultra disc (Panasonic 400) Of memory serves

Dolby Atmos displays as the input signal and also as the selected sound mode?
