Yeah I love karaoke.

Guilty as charged. :D

We sing karaoke during every family party.

I use a Denon AVR-X3000 series (x3100, 3200, 3300, 3400). When on sale these are $600 brand new delivered (USA).

https://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR-X3300W-Channel-Receiver-Bluetooth/dp/B01HL8KYAY/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1523061797&sr=8-1&keywords=Denon+x3300

I also place two 120mm USB fans atop the Denon AVR to blow air up. This keeps the AVR extremely cool.

https://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-MULTIFAN-Receiver-Playstation/dp/B00JLV4BWC/ref=sr_1_3?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1523061843&sr=8-3&keywords=x+infinity+120mm+fan

I have a Yamaha mixer with Compression feature.

Absolutely hells no. You should never buy Bose for anything.

Are you in the US?
Thank you for all good info. I live in canada.
What type of speaker are you using? I think should i get 2 normal pa speaker for singing and 2.1 sound bar for music?. Everything hooks to receiver.
I don't if it works for my purpose or not :(

I use the RBH SVT Towers for music, movies, and karaoke in my 22’ x 20’ x 13’ living room.

I don’t know what is available to you at your budget, but the Klipsch R28F for $499CAN each could work for both karaoke and music. I think it would sound much better than any sound bar or Bose.

Klipsch R28F: 98dB/2.83V/m, 35Hz-20kHz +/-3dB.

Might not even “need” a subwoofer in a SMALL room. But subs are always nice to have.

https://www.amazon.ca/AVR-X3300W-Channel-Receiver-Built-Bluetooth/dp/B01HL8KYAY/ref=sr_1_24?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1523114557&sr=1-24&keywords=Denon+Receiver&th=1

https://www.amazon.ca/Klipsch-Reference-R-10SW-Powered-Subwoofer/dp/B00MH42BBI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1523114834&sr=1-1&keywords=klipsch+subwoofer&dpID=41PeL5d95LL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

So if just 2 Towers ($1000 CAN) + Denon x3000 ($800 CAN) $ Fans ($20) = around $1800 CAN.

Add $400 sub = $2200 CAN.

No need for any Soundbar or Bose.

I see this combo amplyfi, micro and speaker here $383 here : https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0007LCKPU/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1523119586&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=pyle+speakers&dpPl=1&dpID=51mGWUV5pbL&ref=plSrch

I may get this for karaoke only. And i need a good set for music and movie. My living room is around 13x15.i don't know should i get 2.1 stereo or 5.1 home theatre. I dont have any chance to listen music with 5.1 system. So no idea if it sounds greater or not. I listen onky r&b, rap, and some jazz btw.

Can you give me some advice about 2.1 and 5.1 system? What brand and model should i go? My budget for that is around $2.5 k

And thank you for your good comment.

Which stores or websites will you be buying from? Amazon?

I would never buy anything from Pyle.

Look at some other speakers, but not from Pyle or Bose.

And $2.5K CAN?

Both of them from amazon. Still dont know should i buy the pyle speaker or not. They are cheap. ($119 each). I just want a cheap one just for singing fun. What cheap pa speak that i can go?
I just dont want singing and listen music on same speaker. I feel pain for my high quality music speaker when i sing and scream on mic. :)

For my seperate music and movie system. I may buy denon x3000 as you said. And still dont know about the rest, as i mention on last post.
Oh, my budget for music system can vary $2.5k to 3.5k canadian dollars depend on how good i can get.

Looks like that Pyle mixer already has an amp for your karaoke speakers.

The Yamaha mixer I use is something like this Yamaha mixer with the important “Compression” feature, which prevents the bad screaming and vocals from blowing up your speakers. It also makes singing easier and sounds better. I highly recommend it if you are “serious” about having long term karaoke fun. :D

I would not recommend any mixer without a compression feature.

It also as sound effects like karaoke echo, etc.

Hello!

Looking for help as i try and setup karaoke on my home theater setup. I watched several youtube and read a few online articles but still couldn't quite figure it out. I asked my audio guy who setup my home theater system and he didn't know how to proceed either.

I've seen some older threads where people suggested using separate PA speakers, but don't want to clutter up the living room further with another set of speakers (currently everything is in wall or in ceiling) unless I'm really risking damage to my current speakers.

Current setup includes
  • Samsung UN82MU8000 TV
  • Denon X4400H Receiver
  • In wall speakers - Klipsch R5502W II (center), Kilpsch R5800W II (left and right wall), CDT 5800 C II (rear ceiling speakers)

I sorta started my project and read stuff online and spoke with someone at Musician's friend who pointed me to Yamaha MG06X 6 channel mixer and I bought that, but now not sure if I even need that or if it's overkill, etc etc.

I know I do have to get some microphones.....

If anyone could help it would be super appreciated!!!
It is absolutely not advised to use HT or any domestic speaker for Karaoke. There are prone to be large peaks and burst of power that will destroy the type of speakers you have. You need pro speakers for Karaoke as it is "live" sound and the rig needs to be built for that.

I had a GF who was into karaoke. Fancied herself a Streisand and C.Dion fan and expert, to which I can assure you she was not. Didn't matter where we were, she was always waiting for even the most subtle, non-intentional hint to show her. . .talent. The worst part of it being, it was as awkward as when a woman asks the "does this make me look fat?" situation, and cause for much discomfort on my part because I really suck at lying.

On that last point, I would really like to thank all of the people in her life that lied to her about her singing, and this would occur to me whenever we went to family functions because I could tell that they knew the truth.

Check out this thread where I wrote instructions on my karaoke.

I would definitely use a Yamaha Mixer w/ Compression feature and XLR Inputs.

The COMPRESSION feature is absolutely necessary to prevent blowing your speakers. You can use regular speakers because of this feature. :D
