I was listening to some music (Paramore) that is targeted at people half a generation younger than me, and it got me thinking about my high school days. Being an audioholic, you think of most everything in terms of a) audio b) video or c) psychoacoustics, so I started wondering why I never "made out" in a theater with a girl.

Now before Alex and some of you witty types chime in "maybe because you went to the theater by yourself", I think it was just because I love movies that much. For me, the whole point of a movie is to disappear into another world for a couple of hours and forget about my cares and worries.

Of course, the more I think about it, I made out with one girl at her house while watching Aladdin, but that's only because I had already seen it 5 times.

Am I sick, wrong, or just a true audioholic/movie nut?

I think girls were my first addiction.

That's okay on my first date, i was set up by some "friends" who thought it was funny to set me up with some pig of a girl on a blind date. Well i shouldn't call her a pig, let's just say, she sure never skimped on meals. Anyway I was 12 and we saw Red Dawn/Oxford Blues double feature. I learned some valueable lessons on that double feature date.

1. That sometimes the movie is more entertaining then the date.
2. There are some women in this world that you can turn down sex from
3. The smell of popcorn cannot drown the stench of a hefty, horny teen girl
4. That revenge on your "buddies" is always a dish best served cold.

This first date also taught me that a man has to have standards, something I forgot more than once, when I was introduced to alcohol at 16.

BTW my "buddies" were in the back row LOL at me when I went to escape the evilness sitting next to me.

The traditional reason to "make out" with a girl in a theater is because one does not have a better place to make out with her. If you have a better place to make out with her, then the movie theater is best used for watching movies. The same, by the way, applies to cars. They are best used for other things, but if one has no better place, then one makes do with what one has.

Nahhh- I disagree.... there's just something fun about trying to hook up in every place possible when you're a teenager!

My high school girlfriend and I had sex in every conceivable place we could- cars, the kitchen table, her sister's bedroom, and yes... a movie theater. I still remember the movie- "Meet Wally Sparks", this terrible Rodney Dangerfield movie from 1997... the movie was so bad (and we were almost the only people in the theater) that we just decided to go all out in the back row .
