You'd be surprised at all the consent forms I had to sign, as did my wife when I underwent the scalpel. It was actually scalpel-less, but I digress. One of the forms I signed was to acknowledge that I was going to be sterile, and that while reversible is successful in 40% of attempts (and costs $4k out of pocket, no insurance on that), reversal is not guaranteed and you cannot hold the doctors liable.

That all being said, that first numbing shot is a doozy, but the rest was more pain between my ears than anything else.

It is kind of funny when you think about it, that you sign forms saying you won't be mad at them if the operation is a success!

It was more my mental discomfort that made the procedure "rough" than the actual physical part of it. Recovery time to 80% was a day and a half, 100% didn't come until about 1.5-2 weeks later.

Pretty cool how they do it. No stitches or anything, and the hole they used was probably 2-3 mm in length.

The real fun part was shaving before the procedure. I wasn't too keen putting a razor blade to my boys. The ladies do enjoy the results, so take it as you will.
