The Saints finally woke up last night.

Brees put up a 109 QB rating and Bush gained over 90 yards in the first half. I think he finished with over 140 yards of offense. Seattle got a garbage TD to bring them within 11, but the Saints owned the game. 28-17.

Thank God. Assuming they're able to keep it up - and they should - the Saints could easily find themselves in the running for the division at the end of the season.

Packers win again! Thanks to our defense. The defense played really well yesterday and came up with some crucial take aways... and a score. FAvre set the interception record  yay hoo  He was robbed of a td pass to Bubba Franks though in the 4th quarter. Franks got a foot down and was pushed out by a face guarding db. In any case Favre slipped from his average of 300+ yds passing a game  :D

How about Tom Brady. Holy smokes! The guy is on fire! 21 td's and just 2 picks and we are only 6 games into the season. If he keeps this up he'll pass for over 50 td's! The Patriots look REALLY tough.

How about Devin Hester helping out the Bears in a near comeback. Too bad Adrian Peterson was too much for the Bears.

Yawn.
No packer game today.
Looks like I'll need to work on my girlfriend's list of things to do around the house.

The packers seriously need to find a running game. As well as Favre is playing it's hard to imagine him carrying the team through the entire season, much less the play-offs.

Max McGee has died at age 75. He fell off his roof whilst clearing it of leaves...what a trooper! Max caught the first ever Superbowl touchdown (under the careful tutelage of Vince Lomabardi). May he rest in Peace.

GO PACK!

That sucks. What a lame way to die for a football legend.

It was a very good sports weekend for me.

First, the Red Sox won. Then, USF lost. Then the Sox won again. Then LSU won. Then the Saints won - which also involved a bonus of a Falcons loss. Then the Bucs lost. Then the Sox won a third time to take the ALCS.

Yeehaw :)

FISH 0-7, need I say more? Well at least I've got some consolation Ferrari won the constructor's title and Kimi won the driver's title.

Favre and the boys were off this weekend. Good thing to because I was watching the F1 race.

Hopefully they find a shred of a running game in their off week.

I haven't checked yet but let me guess, Brady threw three more td's???

Brady threw six TDs.

They even took him out for a series, but his backup threw a pick that got taken back for a TD to make the score 42-21. They promptly put Brady back in and he threw TD #6 to make it 49-21.

Crazy.

I went to NFL.com after my post. I was shocked  6 more good god. The Dolphins record of 16-0 looks a bit threatened right now. This team looks much stronger than the Colts did in their super 15-1 season. They still have some good matchups to come with Indy next week and Pittsburg and the Giants later in the season. If they win those three the other games should go pretty well for them. After the way they destroyed Dallas they are going to be VERY hard to beat.

I think that the Patriots *can* go 16-0.. but they won't. They won't play their starters to win two meaningless games at the end of the season just to get 16 wins.

I would still play my starters to keep their edge, even if it was for just a half.

Look what happened to the Colts in the post season when they sat players the last game. (When they went 15-1)

What I like about Belichek is the killer instinct. A 14 point margin was too close so he sent Brady back in. They are too many coaches that go into conservative mode. Telling your guys not to play 100% through the whole game is counterintuitive. This can be done with play calling too. Don't get me wrong, if you are up by 21 with 1:00 left you take the knee twice though.

I think we may be a little ahead of ourselves. But if the Pats do make it to 14-0, they should play their starters for the first qtr or half to keep them sharp. Then let them rest up. Also, sit anyone who is borderline (questionable).

Plus you guys lost Brown for the season. Now you've got our former 3rd string QB and former backup RB as your starters. Yikes.

Off Topic, we've got out of control fires in SD again. I can't believe this crap is happening again. So far my parents haven't been evacuated yet, but we'll see. LT had to evacuate his house in Poway.

Prayers will be appreciated.

This has been the worst season ever, but you know what they say "when you hit bottom there's only one way to go, up."
