Are Mogami W3104 speaker wires good.

I was thinking to make my own cables and on Audioholiics YouTube, Gene and another guy from bench mark were talking about how speaker cables can create distortion, some audible, some may not be audible. What do you guys think of the Mogami W3104 speaker wire?

Yes, Mogami W3104 speaker wire is good, along with many hundred other speaker cables.
While long, small speaker cables may cause little frequency response errors,
speaker cables won't cause distortion.

Mogami makes nice cables but why do you need a speaker cable with four wires?

I think Gene's old tutorial used 4 conductor zip cord. You increase the effective gauge by pairing the wires but it's easier to use because 2 conductor cable of the same effective gauge is more difficult to bend and work with. Also, if you want to bi-amp down the road, you already have 4 conductors. Those were the two points that come to mind without re-watching the video.

You could get thinner speaker cables with larger AWG with two wires instead of four and likely save some money on top of that. As for bi-amping: Not much use, if any, for passive speakers.

And those "bi-amped pro-audio speaker cabinets" are not passive speakers.

The three front speakers in my HT system are passive and they are bi-amped with three 2 channel pro audio QSC Digital Cinema amps. I use 4-wire cables to drive each of them.

I don't think you know what bi-amped means and you missed the word "passive".

Ditto. I will add though, twisted pair cable is electrically better for noise rejection.

Now if you want to truly want experiment?

I am using the Cat5 V1 4 twisted pair version in my system. Two pair for +ve and -ve. Don't recall what brand Cat 5 but it was from home depot. I made about a 16 ft final length and then cut it in half for the stereo pair. I cannot explain why, but I have not been able to replicate the same sound as the first attempt in later attempts at slightly longer lengths..

Sure, for very low voltage signals, but for speaker cables passing high voltage? Really?
