Very nice!!! That's why I also used Celestions, Altecs and JBL's in my amps and PA's....Thanks for the heads up though!!! At least I know my options!!!
There are some modern speakers with retro styling from JBL (L100 Classic) and Wharfedale (Linton) but you have not mentioned a budget. Those models are not cheap. If you have very limited funds, you may need to look at the used market or consider something modern like the Monoprice towers posted above. If you're looking for that '80s sound there are usually Cerwin Vegas for sale on line, but they are not particularly good compared to what is made today.

According to what the OP mentioned above, he needs speakers that can play loud. Neither the Wharfedale or the JBL L100 can play loud enough to his liking. He needs either pro audio or THX certified speakers.

A pair of these affordable Monoprice THX certified towers could suit your needs (If you can wait for availability):
Very Cool!!! I know Monoprice makes a highly regarded tube amp for practice and modding, so these have a pedigree in my eyes!!!! THANKS PAL!!!

If you ever get a pair of those THX speakers, please let us know about their performance and your experience with them.

Fellas, thanks for your replies!!!! I currently have about 2500.00 to spend, but I do have some stuff I could think about parting with...Guitars, an amp or 3...LOL...I'll start looking into some of the recommendations, like I said, my 2x15 homebrew amp is loaded with JBL'S, and Celestions in an old Peavey 212 classic, and some other stuff, I've heard of Wharfedales and JBL, of course, so I'll see what I have to do to get my windows to bend and my old lady to get a hotel when I'm feeling GOOD!!!! LOL....Sounds like I'm gonna have to do some OT and get rid of some dust magnets, hell....maybe even a rifle or 2!!! I'm just getting up there, and wanna have a nice stereo for when I'm washin my car or working out in the back, you all know I'm sure!!!...I truly appreciate the time you's put in, and hopefully, that kindness kicks back to you someday!!!...Have a GOOD ONE!!!! CHEERS!!!!

Just got on "the list" anyways, and Mama is tickled because they can obviously double as home theater speakers, though I need to check my stuff to see if I need a new/different amp!!! BOO HOO!!!! LOL....
