AR s112ps sub & Pioneer VSX 520 setup help

Very new to any sort of A/V setup and would like any suggestions on setup of an Acoustic Research S112PS Subwoofer with a Pioneer VSX-520 Receiver. Trying to make it work mostly for TV/bluray use to connect into 5 channel surround system. Thanks for any assistance!

Can I expect these two to work together?

Most subs have two connection options, RCA or speaker inputs. If it has an RCA input then that is what you should use from the subwoofer out from the receiver. It is a single RCA connection.
