analog to digital converter

when hooking the digital to analog converter, from my new samsung tv, to my yamaha v2095 receiver, wich inputs on receiver should be used? tv inputs ect. it is hooked up with optic cable now, however for the system change i'm going to do, i need to convert, so i know the receiver has digital capabilty, but the other linked receivers, are analog, i do not mind analog reproduction, thanks

It's hard to know what you are trying to do, this was pretty much just rambling and maybe suggests that you need some assistance, but can't really assist with the limited info provided.

Yeah, choose any analog input, just DO NOT use the PHONO input if your AVR has a PHONO input.

Then, you likely need to go into the setup menus and assign the input that you choose.

EDIT: But, now I should ask, does the TV and the AVR support Audio Return Channel over HDMI? Perhaps there is a simpler solution to your problem.

Analog is the best option why? Are you out of inputs? Analog isn't "better" when you're talking about the TV as the source device.

yes i realize analog is not better, unfortunalty, linking five receiver's, analog is the only way, as some of them are old analog receivers anyway, each receiver is powering it's own pair of speakers in stereo, no effects, from a front outlets, for optimum power in a very large area

not sure, however have been told by a guy, that is not a beginer, and is a member here, also is familar with my equipment, advised me, to do, what i wish to do, with said equipment, i need go analog, no choice, so i'm just starting out from record out, from first receiver, to auxillary in on next, and so on, to get the identical feed, from first receiver, with no increased power

Theoretically, it should work then. There are likely better ways to do it, but if you have all the gear already, The first post wasn't exactly clear that you were feeding one receive and linking it to others.

Basically all TVs in the last 5-10 years don't have analog out. They normally do have some kind of output like 3.5mm requiring an adapter (usually included) to use analog.

I know, that's why I mentioned the mini jack/headphone jack. All he needs would then be a $10 mini jack to RCA cable.

i wish it did have analog output, but no all usb or optic minipin for blue tooth bar and sub ect, yet no rca? it's a new samsung 78" installer said no longer have them in analog? if you know of an analog output let me know

yes it does have the digital input, wich i a'm currently using, however i have 5 receiver's linked together, starting record out to auxiallry in on next receiver and so on, as to pass the exact signal from first receiver, without increase in power, was told by top member, had to switch to analog to do this, so i figured may as well start at the begining, the two first receivers in set up are yamaha v2095's, they both have digital inputs, i might be able to wye tv to them with optic wye cable, but the rest are analog, so what's the use, i have tested it on tuner, it sounds great' on all five set's of tower's plus five sub's, biiiig area, lol,as i said the tv is already hooked to receiver with optic digital cable, to digital input, but the system when hooked up, was set up in analog, when tv is remotely selected tv/dbs, it will not interfase with the rest of the analog system, so i guess i will just use converter and rca analog tv/dbs inputs, that should do it, wish i knew a better way

Are you sure it does not have a audio min jack output for headphones? If it has then you can use a mini jack to stereo rca cable.

i think i'm using that for my sounbar, sometimes i listen that way with bluetooth sub?
