AMPED 2400 Rated Power

We just tested the AMPED 2400 stereo amplifier, which claims to be made in the USA despite using Pascal OEM Class D modules that source parts globally. Our bench tests of this $6K amp—rated at 800 W per channel into 4 ohms—show it doesn’t quite reach its claimed power. Featuring a proprietary AUSP™ Class A input stage driving a Pascal Class D output stage, it sounds clean and dynamic, but the build quality feels more like a DIY project than a premium $6K component.

Does it matter if an amplifier can’t hit its rated power? In this review, I discuss the challenges of testing the AMPED 2400, compare it to my Storm Audio PA 16 MKII (which also uses Pascal amplification), and evaluate how it stacks up against other amplifiers in its price class.

Yeah, aesthetically it looks like a DIY amp.

For $6K, I would expect:
1. A prettier high-end chassis
2. The measurements to match the specifications (400W-8-ohm, 800W-4-ohms). 190W into 8-ohms FTC ?

A rather poor example at that. My son's DIY amp(pictured on the floor) is a much better example

For country of origin purposes, the components in the module are just a part of how it might be determined. Are Pascal modules assembled in US or imported as a complete module? That would likely be a big factor in determining whether it qualifies for FTC made in USA claims....if FTC is tracking at all....

No, the modules are from overseas not assembled in the USA.

Then cost of module vs US components/labor IMHO probably don't meet made in USA criteria

If one wants a black sheet-metal box with Class D modules in it, Buckeye makes very solid amps for about 1/6th the price...
