Amp/DAC for Nearfield Bookshelf

Hey all, as you may have seen by my previous threads, I am currently in the process of putting together a 2.1 Computer System for near field listening. I am in the last step of my journey, and that is picking out an Amp/DAC. My system will look something like this:

Computer -> Amp/DAC -> PSB Image B25/PSB Image B25 -> X-Sub/Boston XB6

I only have about $300 MAX to spend on an Amp and DAC(Combined or separate, doesn't matter). I currently have 2 in mind; the NuForce Icon and the KingRex T20U. Unfortunately, those are the only 2 in the price range that I could find. Space isn't a big concern, and the amp doesn't have to be able to drive the speakers to insane levels. The majority of my listening will be near field and low/medium volume.

So, any opinions on the subject would be welcome. :)

6moons reviewed the Nuforce and it got a very good review. If you haven't already bought the speakers as well you should also check out the ones they made especially for the amp (S-1). I have always liked single driver speakers and this looks like a very good nearfield combo.

So, you are deciding to pick what are most probably inferior products for the dollar allocated for the project and end up with a highly probable substantial inferior performance, as compared to the products I recommended as a system, based on hard measured evidence and statistical evidence(as far as the cheap out sub is concerned)?

Okay.

If he likes the way the speakers sound, who cares? Isn't that what really should matter in the end?
