amp choice again

which is better? straight out more power or more capacitance?

there is a voice in my head saing "more capacitance", not shure why.
I think there is more to a better amp than just capacitance though.

looks wise, I like the parasound, but I can't get over the fact that 380w is a LOT of power (considering that's a conservative rating from rotel) and I don't know how parasound rates their amps.

I don't like the way parasound quotes THD separately from its power rating.

the parasound is 74lbs.

well, I discovered a deal breaker ... the rotel doesn't have a 12v trigger. unless I'm gonna be using it on a 2 channel setup, that's a no-no for me.

what about bridged amps? I know when bridged the THD increases ... my question is: what if the bridged rating is 400w, and I only need say 250w ... does that mean at 250w the THD is lower?

I believe that at RMS power the capacitance is not much of an issue, or whatever it has is sufficient to deliver that RMS power.

Hence, the Rotel is a much more capable amp. How much more of dynamic power will that extra 28,000uf will deliver, is the question. Will it make up for the 130Watts advantage?

No, it won't. The Rotel seems to have better specifications on paper, but from things I read in the past, the Parasound Halo products have a good reputation. The A21, at 60 lbs, is much lighter than the RB1090 but still heavy enough. I would take the Halo.
