I didn't read the book, but I heard that this is first episode which wasn't in the book at all.

Great. An hour of backstory and zero mention of wth happened to lucky coin Shadow got from one very overgrown 3000 years old Leprechaun.
I agree, Laura's new vision aspect is mildly interesting, but only so much. Just like coin, there's much explanations to details of it, as you've mentioned above.

I don't care much of show's shock TV aspects (sex,gore, gay etc..) , but the wit of Mr. Wednesday and intensity and mystery of story line was attractive to. Mystery could be interesting. last episode breaking this mold was not much of mystery or wit.
I think the subject of comedy on that subject was much better explored in these movies (don't click on links unless you want spoilers)

I saw both of those zombie comedies when they came out.

I didn't read the book "American Gods" either.

E04 is truly a BREAK from the book and it's not in the book at all.

Before seeing E04, I hated Laura Moon 100%.

After seeing E04, I don't hate her so much, although it's difficult to even like her because of what she did to Shadow Moon while he was in prison and the reason Shadow was in prison in the first place (as we found out in E04).

I can't hate someone as much as I want when I know they have psychological problems.

But I like E04 a lot. I actually watched E04 twice - once by myself and once with my wife and daughter.

I love the scenes between Anubis and Laura Moon.

So funny how Laura talks to Anubis in the afterlife and Anubis' facial expression when he turns around and she was gone.

I definitely can't wait to see the reunion between Shadow and Laura next week E05.

I heard Gillian Anderson's Media god will be back on screen with Technical Boy god.

Too bad S01 only has 8 episodes because I want more.

I am a little bit uncomfortable with anything too graphic on TV.

But I can make an exception for "American Gods" since I love everything else about this show.

And we back on track. The lucky coin is pretty much where I expected to be. One last one to explain is her new vision. More powerful and crazy gods. More action and mystery and as the same time if you listen carefully the episode manages to explain much more than a previous one.
Opening with stop motion animation is done quite interestingly and unexpected.

I feel the same. I've only watched the first episode so far. I'm probably gonna wait for the first season to end then binge it on kodi. I lose interest waiting for a week in between episodes.

My impression of AG S01E05 - too darn short.

The fight scenes and bathtub water scenes in the motel room with Laura Moon and Mad Sweeney and police was funny.

So funny how STRONG and POWERFUL Laura Moon is. No way big Mad Sweeney is getting that coin back.

So I waited until all 5 were in my dvr, so I could binge. Watched E1 yesterday and part of 2. Surprised a little at how much I loved it. So much of it is great, but when they hit the beach early on and 2000 arrows covered that guy I was like FuKK! My mouth dropped wide open. Really had my attention from then forward. And the song that was playing the funeral(iirc) was super cool. Can't wait to get back to this.
