While assembling my Wharfedale 12CS-ALs into their new open baffles I wound up breaking the wire to the voice coil on one of them. I never realized the voice coil wire was so fine. It was as small as a hair! What was worse was it's aluminum making it brittle (compared to copper) as well.
I've found there is no good way to solder aluminum so I resorted to tying a fine copper wire to it & holding it together with epoxy.
So far, so good.
If my repair fails, I'd like a plan B to fall back on.
Does anyone have experience with the conductive paint from RS, or any way to connect a wire to the stub. It's now short because it kept breaking off while I tried repairing it.
If there are any replacement cones, I'd like to know about them.
