So getting the Monitor Audio rs-6 floors with center and svs sb12 sub...narrowed the receiver to either pioneer elite vsx92 or Denon 2309ci. Any experience with these or recommendations? Thanks again!

The VSX-92THX has got a lot going for it over the 2309. The VSX has multi channel preouts, 12v triggers, SACD over HDMI, while the Denon does not. If these issues are a concern for you, the choice is simple. The 2309 seems to be a lot cheaper than the VSX. If that's a concern, the choice is also simple. If you want to play those RS6 loud in a large room, I might be a little concerned about the amp in the 2309, based on my experience driving 6 ohm speakers with my 2307. I ended up getting a separate amp but this would not be an option with the 2309 due to the lack of preouts.

well put:) the amp section on the pioneer is "under stated" and preforms very well with most loads.

Denon 2309

Just bought the 2309 myself this week after looking at the Pioneer and the Integra DTR-6.9. Price pretty much made the difference for me. The extra features on the Pioneer were ones I just wouldn't use (don't listen to SACD). I went back and forth about the Integra for a while and ultimately decided to save $150 - not sure if that was smart or not.

I've been happy with what I've heard so far from the Denon and Audyssey MultiEQ at this price point is awesome. Wish it had more than 2 digital audio inputs and the fact that the composite audio inputs are not assignable is frustrating given that it also lacks a AUX or A/V input except for the front one. My AppleTV is hooked into my VCR inputs so don't have a spot for my VCR now. Admittedly I use the VCR rarely, but it's good for those old home movies that I haven't converted to DVD yet.

I struggled with this for a while. If $150 is important to you, I'd go with the Denon, but if you're a multi-channel audio person, then the Pioneer is probably a better unit. I would look at the Integra as well if you can.

Hi Jeff - did you compare these Monitor Audio to other speakers? I am torn between Dali Ikons and MA RS6,but no one seems to be carrying them in my city.

I only compared them to Vienna Acoustics and Klipsch, and martin logans. They all had advantages and disadvantages but honestly it was the reviews and price which won out for me...a great speaker for the price!
