The screen is 120" 16:9 Elite that a customer backed out on. The seats are Ashley. A local furniture store was going out of business, and I got both rows for under $1500.00, delivered. Talk about luck. Went in to buy a box springs and mattress and found these instead. The new bed can wait!

The rack system is on hinges and sits in the wasted space of the stairs to the 2nd floor. The best part of it is if you need to work on it, you just swing it open and work. Spent about $80 in lumber and casters. Beats the $1000 for the similar Mid Atlantic.

The rack is a bit deceptive as the top 3 components are actually the master bedroom system. The house system is actually on shelves behind the main rack, out of sight.

I love the look of the room; seems like it would get good WAF.

My only suggestion would be your center channel: I can't really tell from the picture, but it looks like it's flat on its stand. If it is, tilting it up slightly so that it aims directly at ear level will help deliver the sound from that channel a little better--especially for those seated in the second row. One of the articles on this site recommended using a couple of door stops to prop the speaker up--they work very well!

Edit: I'm loving those towers by the way; very beautiful!

They'd better be QUALITY casters, lol. I'd hate the thought of pooch there knocking the rack for a little ride. Have you figured the total weight on the wheels, Chi? All in all, quite nice!!!

Thanks for the advice. I found something was missing while I was listening to movies. It actually is tilted up and about 9 degrees, and the new stand is about 4 inches taller. Brings it right to the bottom of the screen.

The Def Tech towers are sweet looking. I have had a love for the sound, feel and look since they came out. They are bi-wired. 4 channels of the B&K handle the Highs and lows. 1 Channel for the center and 2 for the side surrounds. The rear surrounds are driven by the 3806.

The total rack weight is about 375 lbs. The B&K alone is 80 lbs. I used 4 casters 3 on the end and 1 about 2/3 of the way down. The dog weighs in at 105 but he has not a chance of budging that thing. The hinges I picked up at Lowes and had a buddy gold plate them. They are the biggest they have without going to a gate hinge.

The sub is a Definitive SuperCube I. It's not visible in the pics, but to the right of the screen and 1/2 way back. Took hours to find the right spot.

I hand selected the fabic myself. Yea right. That was all Kathryn's eye. I would have grabbed the 1st color that looked even close. She must have looked at 30-40 bolts to come up with the right shade, and did it without a color swatch of the paint. All by memory.

The tiles underneath are 24x24 acoustic ceiling tiles, reversed, with the fabric stretched over and glued. It took about 2 weeks of moving them here and there to get the sound right. The room was very bright. I had considered installing fabric walls, but the cost of the fabric was astronomical. I was looking at $1000 in just fabric and no guarentee the bolts would all be the exact same hue/tint/color.

It has made a world of difference in the room!!!!

Hay mate you’re one step away from perfection! Just get a matching loudspeaker place the screen a forwards build a platform to support the loudspeakers across the entire width of the front. Look around for a perforated screen on the cheep and narrow build a vertical wall to also support the loudspeakers and cover that wall with high frequency absorbent material. Put some black masking around it and the sub bass belongs in the baffle wall below the centre channel. Place the screen up and you’ll have one heck of an awesome home cinema in the basement.

Other than that it looks fine.
