All I want for Christmas is less BS in audio

In the coming new year, I would really like to see less BS and more intelligent thinking.

This is a review of a turntable power supply. There is no connection to the audio path. Read the description and remember, I'm only the messenger.

I can't think of any subject in the modern world with more misinformation than home audio. It truly is incomprehensible. I'm reminded of the Shoon Muk discs which are little wooden discs designed to be placed on top of the audio equipment and then be rotated to optimize the sound quality. These discs have been selling for more than a decade.

Well...if we differentiate between home audio and high-end audio, the high end wins with its extreme nonsensical pricing and unobtanium mentality.

If you haven't stumbled across any of the high-end forums, they really are wonderful entertainment. High-end is the poster child for first world problems.

Good luck with that :D. While we're on this subject, I'd also like to see a cure for cancer and eliminate world hunger.

I think it helps to look at audio BS from a more distant perspective. Mid-priced home audio products are rather good, and there is plenty of competition among manufacturers.

In the high priced ranges, the BS get deeper, but that market is relatively small. Even so, there are plenty of manufacturers competing with each other. As a result, the Federal Trade Commission ignores any possible false advertising for just those reasons. They have much bigger fish to fry.

What I want for Christmas is a 24" subwoofer I really don't need. Just because. I'm so used to BS in audio I'm numb to it. I just ignore it. Anyway, sometimes I like to argue with people who think power cords make an audible difference just to amuse my bored self.

Seriously, I have no life.
Well, I want a 25" sub woofer. Make that two, no four. And I want them built into a stand that allows me to place my $1000 turntable on top.
Oh, you want a numbers war?

I want that pair of EV 30W woofers I sold just because I would have had a hard time getting them into my house. It may have been possible, but I'm not sure the house would have survived them.

The woman in the photo is there for size perspective-

Hey, don't be so harsh. It's only £201, with one of the pros being the ever important "easy to install." :D

Btw, I can't find it on their website anywhere. Perhaps your wish is already starting to come true.

I prefer an eight inch sub in a smallest possible box and weigh less than 100 lbs. I know people will tell me it can't be done because of physics or something. To me it is a matter of finding the right material to make that happen.

Okay, I didn't realize they had the material in the North Pole.:D
To paraphrase Steve, reindeer and a sleigh are so last century. Santa just uses Amazon, like everyone else.
