Oh, you want a numbers war?

I want that pair of EV 30W woofers I sold just because I would have had a hard time getting them into my house. I...
Solution: cut hole in outside wall for an IB install. ;) :D

In the coming new year, I would really like to see less BS and more intelligent thinking.
I'm not sure this is the exclusive domain of audiophiles. Look at golf, fishing, hunting, etc. It seems every hobby is bombarded with products of dubious practical value, even though the "improvement" may be measurable under some staged circumstances. (How many golfers buy the latest club/ball that so-and-so pro uses it... in spite of the fact it was designed for the pro's swing speed which is twice that of the consumer?)

Besides, if it wasn't for the BS, what would we do?

Wow! They've already blown off one of her socks!
Might be a fashion statement. You know, like "Friends don't let friends wear only one sock".

She's smiling, so I don't think she hates it.

WRT golf- like the obsession of people selling golf clubs and mentioning MOI (Moment Of Inertia) every couple of minutes? I agree- telling someone about a pro who uses the same clubs, ball, glove, tee, ball marker or spikes makes the customer expect something that can't be delivered. I have known people who changed their clubs on a regular basis and never saw anything close to the improvement hoped for. I worked with someone who offered his clubs to me for $900, saying they were great. I asked what his handicap was and he said "Twenty". I told him to take some lessons because clubs won't help him.

Interesting thing about the clubhead speed of pro golfers- it comes from proper rotational acceleration, not brute force. Well, other than Tiger Woods- he exerts far more energy when he swings than anyone I have ever seen and I think that's why he lost his game- when he was at the top, his swing was more fluid and less forceful. Yes, he has added bulk and he has also been injured more than ever, possibly because he's less flexible.

I love the way many reviews of five-figure amplifiers in TAS,after describing the sublime sound quality of the amp, end with the reviewer saying something like this: "only in comparison with the (six-figure) Collosus superbio amp(the reviewers "reference amp" he has at home)do the subtle flaws of the amp under review become apparent."
You can always be sure that NO ONE can have a system that sounds better than the reviewers system.
Harry Pearson was incredibly petty in this way. Any reviewer in TAS had to be very careful not to imply that a component under review was superior to the bosses.
