Overseas support for products is a major issue. We don't see it that often in the USA, but I see it a TON with projectors and the major influx of the Chinese garbage projectors which are out there. A lot of them are importing their products through Amazon or Gearbest and people are jumping on the false advertising and flat out lies, only to be disappointed with quality and then not have proper support.
The reality is that most of these items still have typical 2% of so failure rates, and that all consumers are going to have some electronics issue long term. It's up to the purchaser to be aware of local support and how strong it is for any product they buy, then weigh that against what they are buying. In the USA, I would have a very hard time buying a XGimi projector with how poor their US support is. But, Epson has very strong US support of their products.
I'm not sure how that relates to India, or any other foreign nation. You have to check for yourself who has strong local support and will warranty your item.
I will say that I've never had an A/V receiver go completely bad on me yet. Yamaha and Denon have treated me well. I've had certain snafus over the years requiring a full factory reset, but for the most part, I just have used my product without problem. I think that's how it works for most people.
Yes, it's bad that every manufacturer can't fully support the products which people purchase locally. But, it is just as much on the buyer to beware, and more importantly, to be aware.
