Hello. I have had two Acurus A250's in my rig for awhile now. Vertically biamping my Canton Karat L800DC's. Some posted on here recently that these amps were missing some basic speaker protection which could cause damage to my speakers. I am also currently reading Thoreau's On Walden Pond. He is very big on simplifying. So I sat looking at my rig, with one of these black beauties sitting by each speaker.........and said, why do I need all this amplification? And the news that these amps weren't all that and a bag of chips has them on the block at Ebay. (davidtwotrees on ebay) Before I sell them I decided to open up the top and take some pictures of the innards. I know Seth is always gung ho for the gut shots..........Hopefully the pics look ok.
On a SQ note, I am now powering my rig with the AudioRefinement Multi5 amp, 5x125. I have listened to my reference music and if there is a difference in the sound, it is so slight as to say I can't tell the difference from 125 w into each front speaker, and the 500w.
I will do a youtube video soon as I have recently gotten the Canton Karat center channel speaker......and the latest addition an SVS 20-39 CS passive sub with a Samson700 amp to power it. So much for simplifying........
