? About Pioneer VSX-1014TX THX Modes

I recently purchased the Pioneer 1014 and don't have much experience with receivers and home theaters. When watching a DVD and using the THX mode of the receiver, the manual states that there are 6 THX settings. Pro Logic II Movie, Pro Logic, Neo 6 Cinema, THX Cinema, THX Surround EX and Pro Logic II Movie. The manual says to repeatedly tap the THX button on the remote to cycle through these THX Modes. When I do this, I can only get the receiver to cycle through the first three. Any ideas on how to utilize the last three modes. Thanks in advance and hopefully I explained this enough for you to understand.

You only have access to the first three modes when using two channel sources.
The last 3 modes can be accessed with multichannel sources and of these "THX surround EX" and "Pro Logic IIx Movie" will only be available if you have surround back speakers connected and Extended is set to on.

Looks like your dvd does not have a 5.1 sound track. The dvd case should have a label on it that says "5.1 dolby surround".
