I'm just a "Perfect1864" girl

Believe it or not I don't work for them but I am a loyal follower.
No other brand has convinced me by taste or certification why I should pay extra for Premium vodka other than Hialeah Bathtub Vodka.

I just thought I would throw in some things to think about.

If You Don't Work For Them.....

....then you work for a promotional company.

Let's see....

  • You're a new member
  • Your first posts are to resurrect a two year old thread that has nothing to do with audio.
  • You're "promoting" a product that is new to the USA.
  • Your first post reads like a canned press release.

Looks like spam, smells like spam, tastes like spam.......MUST BE SPAM

(But I do love vodka)

I always thought Vodka was a product of the ingredients, not just a process. But lately I've seen Vodka's made out of all kinds of things, grapes, rice, etc.

Before I started waiting tables at a Maggiano's, I thought store brand Vodka's were good enough and that Stoli was the good stuff. Man, was I stupid. Now I'm a Belvedere man. I do like Ciroc (French grape Vodka) and Kissui, (Japanese rice Vodka) also. There's a local one that's made in an airplane hangar in Alameda called Hangar One that's nice too. I don't know if you can get that anywhere else but the Bay area right now though.

No joke, did you know that they use to, or still do (can't remember company) manufacture a vodka in Medley? It was a real cheap low-shelf gut wrenching concoction in a plastic jug......I've got to find out, I'm going to call my dad see if he remembers.

For the rest of the guys: Hialeah, a city north of Miami, very industrial, not too pleasing in looks or smells. Medley even worse, northwest of Miami, nasty industrial pollution, smells, you name it, if it's toxic you can get it at Medley.

He thinks it was called Rolska or Roiska, he can't remeber either as he never bought the stuff for the restaurant, way too cheap. He got concerned and asked; "son you're not drinking that stuff, why I wouldn't give that to my worst enemy."

When it comes to mixed drinks, I'm not very booze-brand particular.

However, I am particular when it comes my bloody mary mixer.

Really? I have never bought something like that

We used to always joke about the "imported" liquor from Hialeah. Perfect for a bowl (or 5 gallon bucket) of Dade County Punch.

If you find a bottle buy it as a conversation piece, but please don't drink it! I remember it use to say "Made in Medley, Florida"

He(dad) says the stuff is great on red ants! He told me "it's not the alcohol that kills them, it's whatever chemicals are floating around in there, that stuff was so bad that the winos wouldn't touch it."

All it takes is one good binge and then you can't touch the stuff for a very long time, it happened to me with J&B, I couldn't smell or go near it, so I didn't drink any scotch for about 9-10 years, I would gag at the odor.

How do cavemen get the cap off? Smash the bottle on a saber tooth tiger fang?

LLLAAAAWWWWLLLL.

Yeah I gag at the smell too.

Can't handle your liqiour boys, hmmm? ;)

I'm fairly unimpressed with vodka, unless it's for the occassional martini or bloody mary.

Single malt Scotch and Bourbon are the flavors I like.

But it's good that you both know your limitations, and steer clear. Too many people lack that judgment and bad things then happen.

I'd rather have a good stout than whisky. I also like tawny ports.

Both good choices at the proper occasion. Same with Porter or Ale.

BTW: I'm neither a heavy drinker, nor do I encourage intoxication (unless it's with a reticent misses :p).

Actually we stick it in Rosie O'donell's butt, then twist! She's not as snappy as a saber tooth.

I like an occasional vodka martini, and the premium brands are most definitely smoother than the "store brands". I stick to wine with meals and ales with pizza. I can't honestly tell the difference between the premium brands (Grey Goose, Chopin, etc.) when served straight up or in a martini, but the store brand stuff is undetectable in a mixed drink, IMHO.
