A AudioArcher Audioholic Jan 24, 2006 115 0 0 Winnabow, NC Mar 11, 2006 #3 CS2s I bought them in 1986 at the Listening Room in Pikesville Maryland. I did audition some Vandersteens, 2C's I think, when I auditioned the Thiels, as well as some others. I think Magnepan was in there. Anyway it boiled down to the Thiels and the Vandies. You see which ones I finally decided on. I love their sound and they WILL show any faults in your source material. I have had the Time windows since 1978 and they are still an awesome speaker. Good luck with your Vandies.

Wife wants me to get rid of the Time windows and go with something a little less obtrusive. Bookshelfs on stands. Don't see the difference myself but I will oblige her. I intend to put the DCMs in with the Theils and see how that sounds. Either way I will have fun. At the moment I am leaning toward the Axiom Epic 175 system. Should make a decision late spring to early summer. I am also researching my next DVD upgrade. After that will be a receiver upgrade. I am also entertaining a CD upgrade for the main audio system. The bedroom is pat.

All of them bookshelf\stand mountable. Now, how do we convince the wife that this is the only solution? I have not heard any of the newer models and would be interested myself in hearing them. Have you found a dealer near you to audition them?

A AudioArcher Audioholic Jan 24, 2006 115 0 0 Winnabow, NC Nov 17, 2006 #12 Racks Well they are not that impressive anyway. First bow kill and first gun kill. But thanks about the system. Just had new caps put in the Adcom amps. No more popping. Yeah ! Also re-added my Technics 1506 reel-to-reel back into the systam as well. Have it on an amp stand under the turntable. Still works great.
