You are right on both counts.
Ironically none of the online stores deliver here in PK (I have checked with AMAZON).
Which is quite strange, just imagine iphones were costing here for almost $1,200 - 1,300 when these were launched (16 GB version). TVs & Stereos cost almost at 40-50% plus. Niche market exist in PK where people can afford these products.
We have a local BOSE store in Karachi - their prices are similar to that of US, but they remove one item from the package, for instance they will charge separately for the RECEIVER (adding US$400+ to the mix).
Pakistani Local stores operate on a roughly 20-25% margin on top of the local store prices; instead of passing the cost of not owning stores & saving the overheads of brick & mortar stores. The only USP they provide is shipping to you (on a sadistic note they charge extra if the item is over 1 Kg or not garment / food item.

1$US is equivalent to PK Rs. 104/-
Moving all the stuff from US to PK is quite expensive. As normally a flight allows 40 Kg max per person. And I have to request someone travelling, whenever that might be.
