A tab-tensioned screen?

Hei guys,
I looking to buy a screen and from what I have read, waves start to form after two years in normal pull down or motorised screens unless they are tab-tensioned.

I want to buy from Kingpin. The site does not mention anything about tab-tenson but gives this description of some of the material that is used

"PVC-covered glass fibre
Glass fibre is our best fabric for our roll-up screens. The fabric is built round a glass fibre fabric. The glass fibre is densely weaved to prevent waves to occur on the screen, the densely the fabric is the smoother the screen obtains. The screen is covered with an exclusive PVC-surface to achieve the best quality of colours. We highly recommend this screen to the consumer who believes that colours are very important. A subdued fabric with a gain at 1,0. "

Will you guys say this is the same as a tab-tensioned screen?
Thanks

Tab-tensioned is nothing like this and I have no belief at all that this would be the same thing. I currently have 3 tab tensioned screens and the way they work is the same. There is a heavy steel bar at the bottom of the screen and strings go up the side of the screen through 'tabs' woven into the supports. It literally puls the screen in all four directions - up, down, left, and right and keeps the screen flat. They can, and should last, for years and years without issue.

Comparitively, I've never seen a non-tab-tensioned screen last more than a few years without developing waves in the fabric, and a basic fiberglass screen, such as the one you linked to, is no less likely to develop waves over time.

I would go with a manual, cheap screen if my budget didn't afford tab-tensioned and my space required a roll-up screen.

Always best is a permanently fixed screen.

Thanks for the reply. i'm going to have to think of what to do. A cheap solution for the mean time. i dont think i could get a tab-tensioned screen here in finland, and i dont want a permanent screen on the wall. I want to put some paintings on the wall. Anyways i have to think

Thanks BMXTRIX
