We all feel the same way, but Covid doesn't give two sh1ts what I or you feel like. If we had more strict mandates earlier on and people actually vaccinated en-mass and followed the science best practices, we'd probably be much closer to normal vs current "pretend normal"
I don't disagree with any of that, believe me I don't. Luckily Omicron came and infected everyone all at once and now we are pretty much at heard immunity.
By the way I'm not saying it's time move just because, I'm saying that because the numbers are the data is ok to do so. That's just my opinion though.

We are not close to herd immunity. I'm not a gambling man, but I'd bet the mortgage that we will have more waves of infection coming in the near future.

Seriously, I have no life.
But let's be real here, cases are meaningless, it's hospitalizations and death that matter. As long as deaths improve to near nothing that's all that matters in the end.

They do show deaths (both are delayed) and the death rate is now in the .84% range.

I don't think so just based off South Africa. We all followed them to a T as Omicron started there. I think the big waves are over but I really wish we were 80% vaccinated. I'd have more confidence.

Without the hospitalizations and deaths
...which, alas, is kind of localized and thus under the radar of the healthy population. It's getting better, but the military was filling staffing shortages here until recently. Frontline workers are just as burned out with patients who really shouldn't be there as everyone else is with ham fisted public health policy.

As for the Canadian situation, I have an anti-authoritarian hippy streak a mile wide and strong support for the working class, which makes me somewhat sympathetic, and the RN side, frustrated with adults acting like petulant children afraid of needles and throwing a tantrum.

The protest seems to be attracting some bad actors. The media coverage is ridiculously poor.

Thanks for your work as an RN, especially in these times. I have a streak of gratitude a mile wide for all the healthcare, police, firemen, et al, workers who had to show up for work thru this mess particularly in the pre vaxx days. Too bad there isn't a vaxx suppository delivery option for your petulant patients...,
