my point is valid.. he would not have a true 7.1 and would at best have a "split" 6.1. It's highly doubtful that any existing "7.1" (or even more vaporware, the Denon 5805 "9.1") would match a formal protocol with seven point one actual channels recorded. pretend all you want, it's simply not real world right now.
