5.1 Surround

I have the Yamaha rx-v1400 ,just started setting everything up... this is a simple question for you guys, which I do not understand yet, just need a little help. Playing just fm radio,which sources should I use to hear music in all 5 speakers,r/L ,center ,and the R/L surround. There is all the THX,DTS, Dolby,Pro Logic,LogicII, etc. settings, not sure what they mean, seems like I can only get the front 3 speakers with sound...is it possible to get reg. fm stereo to play in 5.1??...does the receiver process this stuff automatically??

ProLogic II, DTS:Neo6, or All Channel Stereo will play the radio through all of your speakers. Make sure you have properly indicated the number of speakers that are connected in the setup menu.
