hahaha yeah, that damn Snickers candy wrapper sure did cause some problems.....hahaha!

Both Trons came yesterday. Received Corpse Bride and The sound of Music on Monday. 28 years later is supposed to come today and Superman tomorrow. Weird week for deliveries. Next week that new Nightmare on Elm Street set is coming. That should be a good! Just in time for Horror movie marathon in Oct.
Already started watching some horror. Clown in a Cornfield. It was not as bad as it looked. Moderately entertaining semi-low budget film. It presents itself as a slasher, but has a nice twist. The twist was expected, but happened in an unexpected way.

M&C just showed up. ** Just checked out the battle scene, it sounds very clear, the Atmos is very active and sounds great, but the LFE is still dialed back vs. previously. Better, but not how the DVD was. IMO, someone bumped the DVD LFE track up too much, but that made it sound better. In subsequent versions, it was dialed back to correct levels, so it isn't as prominent.

I have been listening to Phil Collins No Jacket Required in Atmos this week. There's some weird sounds that pop on one or two tracks that are odd, but overall it is a solid mix across the whole album. Amazing how many heavily radio played songs are from this album; pretty much 3/4 of the album was in heavy rotation at that time.

Haha, have never heard of Clown in a Cornfield. Might have to check it out.

Just got an update from Amazon. My Superman steelbook is delayed due to "supply chain" issues. I pre-ordered this steelbook when it first popped up. Well before it sold out and somehow, I'm on the backburner to get my copy. Frustrating....

Phil Collins owned the radio for half the 80's and going into the 90's. Dude was on fire. I think I heard he had like 15 songs in the top 100 during his reign. Unfortunately, music today just sucks. Find a hit here and there, but nothing like what the 60's-2010's put out. Music industry is in a huge slump. From my point of view that is.

It's Oct 1st. time to start the Halloween horror movie marathon! Not sure what I will pick to start this month off. I'm using Letterbox to keep track of every movie I watch this year. It's a cool app. Right now, I'm sitting at 141 films watched so far in 2025. I'm trying to break 200! :p

I watched Bring Her Back from the makers of Talk To Me. I liked Talk To Me, but this one is a bit more unpleasant and big time creepy. The performances are good, but the subject matter is tough. Unless you are in the mood for a bit of a downer, I might not recommend this one. I would highly recommend Talk To Me though.

Last night I watched the Toxic Avenger remake with Dinklage as Toxie. It was dumb and over the top, but the same dumb and over the top as the original, so it was watchable. There are a lot of good throwbacks in it and hits all the marks, but falls short of delivering a better movie. It almost feels like funding got pulled half way through and compromises were made to finish it, but that sort of fits the low budget look and feel. Good popcorn, laugh out loud, gory movie.

I have that new Toxic Avenger on order. I think it's coming in a week or two. Looking forward to that. Looks crazy over the top. Which you just confirmed. :)

Last night I watched the Wolf Man. Was released early this year. I thought it was pretty good. The surround sound/atmos were really good. Has some deep bass moments as well. Sound was definitely an A+. The sound made it even creepier because of the little noises you'd hear all over. I would recommend this one for a view.

Tonight, I have picked The Monkey.

Oh, I watched The Monkey a few months ago. It is also over the top gory, good performances and good story. I liked it.

The Monkey was a strange one.

I suspect north american watches are either going to love it or hate it, with very little falling in between.

**Edit, didn't get a chance to watch it. Busy with other stuff, flying out tomorrow to Vegas for a friend's wedding on Fri. then to LA for Halloween Horror Nights @ Universal.

On the horror front, she had never seen Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil, so we watched that one over the weekend. Another goofy gore one that I always enjoyed.

I also watched a little bit of The Conjuring: Last Rites, that first 30 min seemed pretty good, will finish it tonight. AFTER I check out F1 :) "If you lose that lead, I'll KILL ya."

I can tell that you absolutely love F1. :D

As with all Joseph Kosinski movies, I think F1 is good.

I think the screenplay is good, so writing is good. But I just didn’t like the plot as much.

There are movies that I think are good, but I just don’t like their plot. :D

I liked Ballerina. I bet a lot people didn't like it because it was more estrogen and less testosterone. :D
I finally watched it today. I love the JW franchise and imo this was a well balanced testostrogen film. I really was excited to see Keanu fight with Ana. That was cool.
It definitely wasn’t a john wick movie, but all the players were there, and it was a lot of fun.

Halloween movie updates:

Wolfman, The Monkey, It: chapter 1, Drag me to hell, Body Bags (from 1993) and Five Nights at Freddy's.

Not sure what's up next. All the newest movies that came out this week will have to wait until Nov. Keeping it strictly horror movies all month. :p

I thought it was a good movie. It wasn't earth shattering drop dead amazing, by any means. But just a solid movie. It's really unfortunate that they didn't release the movie with IMAX shots. I just don't get what the point is if you're going to shoot a movie in IMAX why we can't get the same copy on physical/digital. It makes zero sense. Or at least offer it up for sale. Plenty of people would purchase it.

Oh, good point about the IMAX. I forgot about that. Yeah, if the entire movie was shot on IMAX, then release it entirely on IMAX. I knew something was off. :D

The "plot" wasn't very good lol. Just like Maverick wasn't a great plot either. Yet they manage to be entertaining films. F1, I just like the driving scenes. Those make it fun to me.

Oh, we are going to see Tron Ares in LA with our friend.
