Yes, we have them all the time around here, but when they are big enough that you REALLY notice them, it does tend to get a bit unnerving. Last night a 5.6 hit just a few miles from my house and I definitely felt that one! One just hit a few minutes ago here and I work on the 5th floor only a few miles from the epicenter (same fault as previous). When it shakes enough to make you notice take notice, like things in the building shaking, well...nobody likes those ones...
Before October 1989 (Loma Prieta), I think most of us took ones of this magnitude in stride, but now I think most who were here during that one get a little worried when they make an appearance like this.
