I only saw a few plays of the Bills game but I didn't see Merriman. Is he not playing yet?
Merriman flew to Buffalo on either Friday or Saturday to report. His presser was on Saturday I think. It was said by the Bills he would not dress for this game which is totally understandable. He was shown on the sidelines in street clothes. He will be starting next week. LIGHTS OUT! :p

Looks like lights out in Dallas too. Which team is worse, Buffalo or Dallas? After last night game in GB my money is riding on Dallas.

Dallas has way more talent than Buffalo however Dallas has quit on the coach and the season while the Bills have not. I give the Bills credit for fighting and fighting hard. The worst team in the NFL IMO is the Carolina Panthers....then Buffalo.

I would be beating bumps on the players' heads if I was Wade Phillips and Jerry Jones. To make that kind of money and act like someone kicked their dog is inexcusable. They sat around, moped and generally sucked last night but they only lost one major player- Romo. The Packers have lost position players two and three deep for the season, but they flat out brought it last night. The running game even worked and the best running back on the team went out for the year in the first game.

It boils down to "Who wants to win?" and "Who came to play?". If GB plays this way against the Viqueens next time, Minnesota won't stand a chance.

Prior to the season Jerry Jones was convinced his Dallas Cowboys would be hosting the Superbowl on their own turf.

How pissed is JJ right now. :p This situation is extremely embarrassing for him but it is not without his faults. Like I said last year, extending Wade Phillips was a BIG mistake.

Phillips flew back on JJ's private jet to Dallas instead of with the team. It would be something to be a fly on the wall of that plane.

What a surprise....but to little to late, Cowboy fans. JJ sacked Wade and now Garrett is going to run the show...BTW isn't he the offensive co ordinator...:plol.

He is and a large part of the blame should be on his head but he was hired by the head coach (maybe), after all. I can't see how the defensive coordinator isn't on the hot seat, too. GB ran on them, passed with ease and Rodgers had no problem getting out of the pocket when the "pressure" was on.

Wade Phillips IS the defensive coordinator. All the success he has had in coaching has been as a coordinator. Defense is his specialty. I have always said, Wade Phillips is an excellent defensive coordinator, horrible head coach. Though in the latter part of his tenure with Dallas, his defense was awful.

Jason Garrett is not the answer either. He should be fired along with the rest of staff at the end of the year.

Jason Garrett was the man with respect to becoming an NFL coach just a few years ago. Now he'll likely be outta work at the end of the year and won't be given much consideration for vacant head coaching jobs anytime soon...this year was a disaster in Dallas!

He turned down becoming a head coach for a few NFL teams a few years ago (I just can't remember them now) . I think you're correct, I don't see him being considered for any head coaching vacancies at any point now. He will get snatched up as a coordinator or position coach though.

Merriman injured 15 minutes into his first practice. Might not play this weekend either. Even as a Bills fan I think this is funny, in SD they are laughing even more.

Merriman injured in first practice as a Bill

Shawne Merriman was excited about joining the Buffalo Bills because it offered him an opportunity to show that he's healthy and capable of producing at a new-contract-worthy, Pro Bowl-level.

That honeymoon's been canceled already though, because, according to our Bills Rapid Reporter Mark Ludwiczak, Merriman suffered an injury in his first practice as a Bill.

Ludwiczak reports that Lights Out "left the field with an apparent injury to his lower right leg after about 15 minutes."

So, yeah, that's kind of awkward, especially since that's the same leg with which he had Achilles' issues earlier this year.

The severity of the injury isn't known yet, but if it's anything serious, it could be the kind of thing that costs Merriman a chunk of change going forward.

Nah they had a great defense, but the offensive line and turnovers are what killed the season. Garrett is a big upgrade at head coach over Wade because he has passion. I probably sound like a broken record, but the problem with the Boys is simply the offensive line. They are old and injured. We need a new line to compete. You can have Manning running your offense, but if the line stinks you are getting pounded. Doug Free still hasn't mastered left tackle and they really need to replace Leonard Davis, Andre Gurode(terrible snapper) and Marc Columbo. Kosier is always hurt too. The team has quit, but it all starts with the inability to move the ball.

You can have a great Defense(see Chicago last season), but if your offense is fumbling, tipping passes in the air and having numerous 3 and outs you don't have a chance in this league.

How bout' them Cowboys! :D  (I still don't think Garrett is going to be a viable long term solution to the coaching position even after this HUGE win)

I almost threw up in my mouth a bit rooting for the Broncos yesterday, but handing the Chiefs yet another loss just opened the door wide open to the AFC West. Now if the Bolts can just do their normal run of the table in December I think we can win this thing.

I think your right...Dallas needs a complete purge!

Spoken like a true football fan...however with FF people only care about the stat line and the home team winning has become secondary...lol. :D

The Chiefs are going to end up being the Broncos of last year.

That's what everybody is saying. I don't think the Chiefs will have the complete collapse that the Broncos did, but I do think that they'll put themselves out of the race before too long.
