I don't know. It would depend on the room size and whatnot. I guess we will never know. BUT, I have heard the whole S.3 line of subwoofers, and they are very impressive. The S10.3 outperformed the Velodyne DLS5000R.

He measures at 2 meters from a sub, if memory serves me well today.
His write up for overall sound was pretty good though.
My patience during setup was rewarded with outrageously good sound

and more.

But that still doesn't equate this sub in hitting the 19Hz with enough level to be useful. 20Hz was 86dB spl. 105.7 at 25Hz, 113 at 32Hz, 109.5 at 40 Hz, 109.7 at 50 Hz, 108 at 62Hz. So, it is pretty good from 25-63, and that is what is being heard mostly. That sounded very good.

Thats not to bad,i dont even know what my 20-39pci will do at 20Hz. I think its around 100db. So 105@25Hz is pretty good.

Maybe one day I will take my Test CD I made that has tones down to 10Hz and give the sub a run for its money :) 105dB at 25 is very good.

Can you also measure distortion and limit it to 10%? :D

Yes, that 25Hz is good and all above, that is why Tom like them overall.

18Hz. The sub was "rated" to 17Hz. I didn't go buy volume, I just made sure the driver wasn't exurting to far. It was a sealed sub with a very small enclosure, so it got really hot and the voice coil melted.

Mtry,

I don't have the equipment to measure up to 10%THD, but I know what boomy subs sound like. If I get output at all down there I would be happy with it.

Now that I think about it, I bet the sub did have output that low, but above 10%THD. Thats alot to ask from a 12inch driver.

thanks sheep ... so what went wrong with the sweep? too long a sweep? too many sweeps before that?

would you do these sweeps on your new dps-12?

I will do sweeps with the Velodyne. I need to get word installed on my computer so I can type it up without Spelling and grammar errors.

The other sub broke because it was cheap. The Athena and Velodyne will be able to handle the sine waves. I also never turn it up loud, I just want to see if the subwoofer can hit the Frequencies.
