    CRT vs DLP

That is what bothered me about my DLP. It seemed that the manufacturer was always behind in getting bulbs from the bulb manufacturer. Seems each set and each company uses bulbs specifically designed for each set and they aren't interchangable. What happens in 5-6 years, when the bulb...

    Projector bulb life

Had a DLP RPTV, 6000 Hr rating for bulb, actual (1)5000hrs, (2)1800hrs. At 400 dollars a piece, I said screw it, and got a plasma.

I believe the largest I've seen so far is a NEC 84" plasma for about 13,000.

    multiple display inputs

From the way you worded your question "plasma/LCD" I assume you don't have one yet. Many plasmas and LCD's have 15pin RGB inputs that you can just plug in your monitor's cable and use as a PC monitor. I am personally typing this to you on a 55" plasma connected this way. I use component...

    Best DLP for the $

Because most people have a cable box or sat. box with an HD tuner in it. You can't use the built in tuner for cable or sat HD. Only good for OTA (over the air) transmissions.

    Gaming Problems w/DLP?

I've never had an issue with my DLP as far as response time. It was great for gaming.

    Best DLP for the $

If I was going to get a DLP, I'd probably go for the 61-70" DILA from JVC. Remember to consider bulb life and the cost of replacement and the amount of downtime while waiting on a bulb before getting a DLP or LCD RP. I had a DLP, the bulb cost 400.00 and took a couple weeks to get the...

    buckeyefan1

The only negative thing to consider, which I didn't before I bought my first HDTV (a DLP which has now been replaced by a 55" plasma) is bulb cost, and downtime while waiting on replacement bulbs. I used my DLP for a computer monitor as well as a HDTV, so it was on a large portion of the day...

Hitachi Unveils New UltraVision Flat Panel TVs

As an owner of the 2004 55" Hitachi Plasma, I have to say I'm looking forward to seeing the new models. I'd like to get a 42" for the bedroom next. I'm very happy with my 55". Mark

    Big Screen TV

I use mine for my computer monitor. The thing I didn't like about the DLP is that it took 30 to 40 seconds to start up and then had a cool down period that you couldn't turn it back on if you shut it down accidentally. So when I checked my e-mails or whatever, I didn't ever shut it down...

    Big Screen TV

I had a 56" DLP for the past couple years and loved it. The only thing I would warn you on the DLP, check the price of replacement bulbs before purchasing your set. The majority of the DLP bulbs are rated for 6000 hrs, and cost hundreds of dollars. The quality control on these bulbs is not...

Hitachi 55" Plasma discrete codes for RGB input?

I got the 55HDT51, and it is awesome. It has most discrete codes, but I can't find the one for RGB selecting. That is the only complaint I have though. It is an awesome PC monitor and HD set. JohnA, thanks, I have tried that site, and I'm always on it as well. Good Luck, Mark

Hitachi 55" Plasma discrete codes for RGB input?

Hey guys, I just got the 55" plasma from Hitachi, and I love it. All except for one thing. I can't find a discrete code to select the RGB input. I have discretes for all the other inputs. Anyone here have that code? I would be eternally grateful if you'd post it here for me. Thanks...

Do you own a univeral remote???

No one has mentioned the Philips Pronto, but I love it. I have the 7000, 3000, and 2000. If you can swing it, get the 7000. It will do anything you have the imagination to make it do. Mark

Ota Hd, How Do You Get Yours??

    Vizio Plasma and LCD TVs

I have a Gateway DLP which was manufactured for Gateway by Vizio. I can tell you I am very happy with the PQ of the set, and Vizio's customer service is great. Their phone system sucks though, you have to leave a message and hope to get a callback. But once you have someone to help, they are...

    Twc Hdtv?

Rack04. I just read the manual for the Toshiba DLP. If you are going to use a HTPC, don't get this set. It said in the manual not for use with a PC. Check it out before buying if that is a concern... It would be for me... Also check about the 720p format. In widescreen mode, it looks...
