Jokes... Heard any good ones lately?

A man goes to his doctor and says “Doc my peni$ has turned orange!” The doc says “what have you been doing?” The man says “not much. Just eating Cheetos and watching porn”

Non-Partisan discussion... when are you too old to be in office?

I agree that age limits do not take into account highly different rates at which people age especially cognitively. And testing is fraught with issues. If we do test I would like to propose a rather low bar. Any president or congressman should be able to pass the standard citizenship test...

Just Back Home after a Serious Event.

I had a similar experience in Rochester as a patient. It is an amazing place and they way they run the outpatient side is incredible. Smartest docs I’ve ever seen. I know some of the radiologists in Scottsdale and Jacksonville better, they are all brilliant. But I could never work in Rochester...

Just Back Home after a Serious Event.

It seems as though our interventional radiology folks uses mechanical thrombolysis rather than tPA for saddle PEs these days. I think it may be time to change your ranking name. Just sayin…;)

Just Back Home after a Serious Event.

As the guy who reads those PE studies I know how bad that was. So glad you pulled through. That was a big one. Something I have learned is that while clots in leg veins take a long time to clear up and often have long term sequela when they go to the chest they clear quite quickly days to a few...

    Disney Sues DeSantis

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/04/26/desantis-disney-lawsuit/ Well it looks like the Mouse has had enough and is gonna bite back hard. They have an army of lawyers. This is gonna cost the state a fortune. Not wise to p.o. the largest employer in the state. I did read where the new...

Ernst Blofeld and SPECTRE blew it up. Musk was starting to give them competition in the quest for world domination.

    Richard "D!ck" Fosbury died RIP

I always liked that story and learned a bit more about him through his obit. What made his jump look so odd was that he was left footed as well (the leg nearest the bar which is the one that kicks up in the flop style) so it seemed very unnatural to the right handed world.

    Absence for surgery next week.

Wow amazing story about how all else failed and then you actually got hide bound Medicare to approve it. Unfortunately few places have a handy cyclotron which explains the expense. I think NIH near me does. The radiology group there does a ton of good imaging research. I see tons of pseudo gout...

    Absence for surgery next week.

So glad to hear. Only 10-20% of parathyroid adenoma are in the chest which makes the surgery much harder than the neck. At least it was in the anterior portion accessible via a scope and not the posterior portion which means a much more extensive surgery. I am not too familiar with the C 11...

    Coronavirus

I found this article. In sum many are crap and a few are quite good. I wonder which I have? https://journals.lww.com/anesthesia-analgesia/fulltext/2016/08000/the_accuracy_of_6_inexpensive_pulse_oximeters_not.9.aspx

    Coronavirus

Well after nearly three years I finally got it. I am maximum vaxxed last dose in October. So far a bad cold plus oxygen desaturation to 90%. Got the Paxlovid and am chilling at home. Too sick to work. I will be fine but having a pulse oximeter (50 bucks at CVS) is well worth it. Anything below...

    Kirstie Alley Dies at 71

If you don’t want to get the anesthesia and all that try a non invasive CT colonography. It works as well is over in ten minutes and you can go straight to work or whatever. No distension or sleepiness. The only difference is you can’t get a biopsy. Much cheaper too.

    Trump: Terminate the Constitution

If Lincoln didn’t suspend the constitution during the Civil War there is no circumstance that could ever justify its suspension.
