One of the advantages of using an e-core transformer is there would be less inrush current as with a torroidal design. With 10 channels the POA-A1HDCI would have probbably had a loud thumb when power up from off. The added space and extra shielding (weight) required of an e-core transformer...

I mosied over to the Denon website. They do not have a green check by torroidal transformer. They are probably using elcore transformers.;)

Comparing the Denon AVP-A1HDC1 to the Anthem Statement D2 for instance proves the denon to be a good deal. The Anthem is about $500.00 less but probably can't touch this Denon. The Denon is well worth the cost, if the best matters to you!:) I'd buy it but I'm scared of my wife of 31 years.:D

I have an Outlaw 770 amp and it is a very good product. I would imagine that the 7900 amp is even better. It weighs 145 lbs. It's made by ATI for Outlaw Audio. I think it is the same amp as the high dollar Lexicon. I don't need as much power as the 7900 delivers. But if I were rich like Mike C...
