pre amp output ?
Just inquiring as to what speakers you are driving- as the 4520 has a pretty healthy amplifier. I drive my Infinity Beta 50 series with Infinity IL-10's SB and SR. The front Beta 50 are bi-amped. I use all 9 channels of the 4520. The 4520 drives them great!

The Outlaw Model 770 amp requires 1.43 V to reach full output. Both my Denon AVR-3312ci and my AVR-4520ci specs read 1.2 V analog output.

Do Yamaha AVR's have a higher pre-amp output than the Denon AVR 1.2 V output?

This is a very nice amp. I have an old Model 770 from Outlaw which came with a 5 year warranty. It has worked great for many years. It only has 2.0 kVA transformers- with the same capacitance. It weighs 3 lbs less. It's sensitivity is 1.43 V. It was $1800.00 from Outlaw Audio over 10 years ago...

Network Card - possibly on it's last legs?
PS, I have the Service Manuals for the Denon AVR3312ci as well as the Deno AVR4520ci. The 3312ci has an on board SMPS. The 4520ci has HDAM circuitry- which I thought was exclusive to Marantz.

Thanks, I hope that was it. I have it on a surge protector. I live in Sherman, Tx and we do experience wild weather. I did not hear or see anything else in the house act up when it occurred, however.

Thanks, mine is still working. But, if that pop happens again, I'll get rid of the AVR-3312ci. It's out of warranty!

Network Card - possibly on it's last legs?
My audio system in the spare BR/Den scared the crap out of me. I was in the Network function switching around and the Denon AVR-3312 ci being used as a pre-amp made a poping sound and the protection circuitry enacted. The 7 channel Outlaw amp's opto protection thus tripped causing a bodacious...

Monoprice Monolith 7
It looks really good. My Denon AVR-4520ci does pretty well with it's internal amps- but I'm toying with the idea of picking one up. I'm 61 yrs. old, so I probably need to quit buying audio gear- as my daughter and wife will just probably have a garage sale someday when I pass? I'm still in good...

Emotiva XPA Gen 3 Amplifiers Promise More Power & Efficiency
I think there were things that neither wanted made known. Carvers former tube amp company vanished after they merged. But then Emotiva starts using SMPS, and Carver opens a new tube amp and speaker company. Carver probably made some sort of a financial deal. Jade, Emotiva's parent company has...

denon
I have one, and I have it connected via Denon link and HDMI to my Denon 4520ci. It is an exceptional source, I have 0 complaints. The build quality and features are first rate. It will stand up to units costing alot more.
