Amazing Pat Metheny Video
You obviously know very little about Pat Metheny to be making such statements. This was not nearly his most complex song and I linked to it more b/c of his creativity in the music and the instrument he had custom made for this purpose. IMO Pat has no equal in playing or creative skills -...

Emotiva Reference Theater Series IPS-1 Amplifier Review
The IPS-1 still has independent mono block amps just like the MPS-1 but you can't slide the modules in and out. The MPS-1 would have identical SNR if you pull the limiter circuit off which is easy to do. Emotiva will instruct customers on request if you wish to do so. I mostly prefer the...

Home Gym - essential for Home theater enthusiasts
I spent over a year decking out my new home with theater equipment, and multi room audio but until now, I was missing the most important element - a home gym. Now I can listen to tunes while I bench press or ride the elliptical glider. Time flies by when your listening to your own music in...

JBL L880 Floorstanding Speakers Review
Be careful with considering this an absolute truth. I have found many speakers claiming to be flat anechoically on/off axis tend to be too bright in real rooms and measure bright accordingly. Also, this mantra doesn't apply to all loudspeaker designs such as line array type speakers which...

So what DOES make for a good amplifier?
Its usually NOT a good idea to use pro gear for home theater. Pro gear is designed mostly for sound reinforcement - very high powerful amplifiers whose sole purpose is to produce a alot of sound at the expense of a high noise floor and overall fidelity. In a concert venue this is appropriate...

So what DOES make for a good amplifier?
That article was written to debunk a bogus spec that some receiver manufacturers boast about instantaneous current. It does NOT negate the importance of a solid power supply or an amp with REAL world headroom. I plan on doing some more articles on this topic when time permits.

So what DOES make for a good amplifier?
I don't ever recall publishing an article on Audioholics stating power supply is NOT a factor. Damping factor is a nebulous term since it all depends on how it was measured which is why output impedance is something you should look more closely at. If you look at any of my amplifier reviews...

Massacre at Virginia Tech
Truly a sad event and tragedy for all of those involved. I had to re-read this three times b/c I couldn't believe that many people were killed. Each time I read it, I hoped for them to only be injured. Unreal.

Denon AVR-5805 Audyssey MultEQ XT
You likely don't have it set to "Audyssey" for all modes of operation or have custom bass management set for different modes. Check both of these.

Top 10 Guitar Players all genres
Lee Ritenour is a phenominal guitarist, one of the great ones in Jazz. Unfortunately his music (like so many other jazz musicians) for the past decade or so IMO has been less than inspiring b/c he has to confirm to the Smooth Jazz radio station protocol to get air time.

Denon AVR-5805 Audyssey MultEQ XT
The light will only remain green if you don't alter any parameters which were calibrated in the auto setup such as level trim, delay settings, speaker size, etc. If you alter any of these, the light will turn red but you can still engage the Audyssey correction curve.

Halo 3 Sneak Peek & Official Audioholics Discussion
You not liking the new shield bubble or just the normal shields like they had in Halo 2? I never played Halo 1 but some people have told me they preferred the gameplay of 1 over 2. Any comments?
