B&W sold to a Silicon Valley start up company

B&W Purchased by Silicon Valley Startup: Cheers or Tears? It's one of the most lopsided company acquisitions in recent history. An historic hi-fi speaker manufacturer Bowers & Wilkins with over 1000 employees was bought by a Silicon Valley startup with barely a website to its name. What's...

Endeavor Audio E-3 Mk2 Tower Speakers Preview

The brand new Endeavor Audio E-3 Mk2 speakers do not have as flashy appearance or exotic design as many of the other high-end speakers at the 2016 AXPONA show. What they do have is a simple form factor and great sound. The E-3 MK2 are a 4 driver, 3-way design employing a coherent...

Salk Song 3 Towers Speakers Preview

A beautifully crafted 3-way tower with 33Hz extension from Salk Sound, the Song 3 looks to be quite a bargain. A papyrus fiber cone woofer, bamboo mid and RAAL tweeter all come together in the Song 3 for a sound which could match the quality of other speakers at AXPONA that were many times more...

RBH Sound Wireless and Beryllium Headphones Set New Industry Benchmark

I would suggest calling RBH as I am sure they will be willing to work something out with you. I still use my HP-2s on my digital piano with great results. The only major gripe I had was the clamping strength was too strong but you can bend them out if its a problem for you and I believe RBH is...

    A question about EQ

Agreed. It pisses me off when receiver/processor companies give you auto-EQ and a GEQ rather than an adjustable PEQ down to 20Hz. Yes passive treatments (even in the form of throw rugs and couches) are very necessary above bass frequencies especially in rooms with hard floors, and glass. I...

    A question about EQ

Yes EQ will flatten that peak and restore the decay time as well but only for one position unless you reduce the seat to seat variances by deploying multi-sub. Once you reduce the variances, then EQ will be effective for all the seats.

    A question about EQ

That simply is NOT true. EQ is completely valid below the room transition frequency and I'd suggest you read the 2 articles I linked up in my last post. I'm surprised a few regulars here have NOT read these articles yet.

    A question about EQ

Loudspeakers are min phase devices which means that EQ can work to reduce resonances. At low frequencies, rooms also behave min phase. If you have reduced seat to seat variances in bass using multisub, then you can EQ the peaks and it will fix the time domain response as well and benefit ALL...
