Audioholics $75K Recommended Home Theater System

Not a bad system though those Dyne's are severly dynamically limited compared to our selection and your system is for one room only whereas ours is a whole house. Not to mention you are only doing 5.1 and not taking advantage of any excellent post processing options such as PLIIx Music/Movie...

Yes but again we are trying to keep things easy. Rives CD is a step up from using Avia for example and its easy enough for Joe 6 pack to pick up, use and get decent enough results to fix a problem they may have caused before calling in the big guns. Personally when I get lazy, which is more...

Yes its the Behringer 2496 PEQ. My sub is located pretty close towards the corner cavity of the room and I had to squash two bass modes. This helped considerably. FYI; this is the family room system, not the main theater room.

It's called maintenance. If the end user moves stuff around, accidentally hit a sub level control, etc, he/she can at least baseline performance on their own to a reasonable extent without having to rely on the customer installer each time. If you really want to get down to it, forget ETF...

The RBH speakers we selected for CinemaSITE are very close in performance to their Signature T2 system. I would give the edge to the latter but CinemaSITE looks so much nicer.

Cary Cinema 6 AV Processor Review

Cary Audio is company probably better known for their SET (single-ended triode) power amplifiers and vacuum tube pre amplifiers. But it seems Cary wants to be considered in the highly competitive home theater market as well. The Cinema 6 is their latest surround processor/preamplifier and is...

So you would rather have very expensive (not necessarily better components - actually most of the alternatives you mentioned won't even bench test as well), that look nicer, but have less functionality. It seems that people are confusing this system with a single room solution. That was not...

It has some of the elements for my showcase home such as the 5805 and front projector but you will soon see my Showcase home takes things up a notch for audionuts like me. This is only a first of many recommended systems to come. I am currently working on a $100k 2CH system now :D

    Sattelite Radio Sucks

Agreed. I had XM in my Acura TL for 3 months and let the subscription run out b/c I couldn't handle the compression. The voices all sounded like Megatron from the Transformers. I heard that many of these channels are limited to 60kbps depending on particular channel, content being played and...

RE: Subwoofers for 75K System RBH did infact release their inwall version of the 1010 subwoofer. They just haven't had a chance to update their site. These are very good subs and most importantly, you don't see big boxes since they are integrated into CinemaSITE. We have updated the system...

Jax, thanks for finding the typo. RE: the subs extension: RBH is coming out with a 1010 version of their sub for CinemaSITE but since its not yet officially released, we used the SI-12's which despite their spec's have very good extension, tactile response and linearity. I can assure you...

I like the Yamaha LPX-510 and at the distance I am sitting from the screen (18ft) 1080p advantages will be minimum at best until we have true HD content at 1080p at least. Realize this whole system is fully upgradeable. I ran 3 2x6 studs in the ceiling so I could mount a series of projectors...
