I applaud manufacturers that are engineering small potent subwoofer solutions. It takes a lot of good engineering to make them perform well. But, when they do, they blend into a room decor well and yield excellent performance, especially when using 2 or 4 strategically placed.

Paul resides in Downey which is very close to LA. I believe that's about 400 miles or so from Sacramento so unless you're willing to do the drive, I don't think its possible.

Probably but that's the issue often when I syndicate articles from manufacturers from time to time. I try to keep their product plugging to a minimal but its nice to get different content and perspective into the site whenever possible.

who is pushing the Axiom Amp? Two of my review samples blew up when I tested them which was noted in the review. Axiom won't even list my review on their website b/c they were so displeased with the results. I am still waiting for them to produce a bulletproof version of this amp b/c I feel...

There is a 6dB diff in input sensitivity but they only specify voltage gain once which we aren't sure if its for balanced or unbalanced. I believe they are following the 6dB convention I mentioned but you could always call them to ask.

FYI; Tom's dedicated reviews of both speakers: Salk Song Towers Infinity Classica C336 I'd love to tell everyone to buy the Infinity's since they are sold on the AH E-store but the Salks appear to be a much better speaker.

That's a good idea to check with your B&K amp to see if level changes. However without measuring your B&K , we aren't sure what its unbalanced/balanced gain structure is unless it specifies it in the manual. I always prefer balanced b/c its less problematic and you usually get a lower noisefloor.

Regarding SNR A-weighting can yield a 10dB or more improvement over un-weighted depending on what amp topology, and what digital circuitry is producing out of band noise. Again you need to compare apples to apples. That being said, the Onkyo sounds like it has very good noise performance...
