You don't need to cover the entire floor with carpet. However, if you have parallel hard surfaces like wood floor and drywall ceiling, you will get a ton of slap echo. You need to treat the ceiling with some absorption in those cases if you will want to see the nice wood flooring.

BE careful with wood floors. That will change your bass pretty drastically. Also if you don't have a throw rug at the first reflection point, you're not going to like the sound.

You're insane! What are those red things to the sides of the speakers? Perhaps you can swap them to get more distance between your mains? Also put the carpet spikes as it will help clean up bass response. Just put a coin under the spikes so you don't damage your rug.

Agreed and I've been testing Atmos enabled speakers on an Atmos system and the Atmos speakers were really the limiting factor. They simply didn't match the tonality of dynamics of the rest of the speakers in my system. Also the elevation effect evaporates if your too far away from an Atmos...

There is a way but for now it's kind of stupid. You have to open the post and exit the conversation to delete it. You can't select all to delete for now till Xenforo upgrades that.

Sorry I meant a hybrid Bipole like the RBH 44-se and 66se where the MT driver arrays are on an angle rather than 180 deg apart like a Bipole tower speaker.

Bipoles are generally a better option than Dipoles b/c the former keeps all drivers in phase and thus still provides some of the best attributes of a monopole but with broader sound coverage for multiple rows of seats. I personally use a variant of them as side channels in 2 of my theater...

I am playing Atmos! The Denon comes shipped with ability to play Atmos. Again I am comparing Atmos to TrueHD without the Dolby speakers and so far preferring the latter.
