I temporarily disabled it to see if it would affect our SEO. I will probably be putting it back soon.

Why I dislike traditional bass management

It's not recommended because it takes more care than most consumers are able and/or willing to expend on it to make them work. I essentially turn my sealed subs into ported responses by increasing the slope of the HPF to match that of my ported designs. One thing you have to be sure of is to...

Thanks. I'm just catching up on email now and will check.

Why I dislike traditional bass management

I've got a combo of sealed and ported subs in my system. The key to getting them to all play nice below the tuning of the ported subs is to adjust the HPF slopes and sometimes Fc of the subs. I did this on my 2 Velodyne DD15+ subs and you can see how well the integration is with my ported...

Monolith by Monoprice HTP-1 16 Channel Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Home Theater Processor w/Dirac & Alexa Compatibility

One thing I just noticed is the HTP-1 doesn't have a balanced input. That's a major oversight and I just emailed them to implore them to include at least one. Many audiophiles (myself included) have high end source devices to play SACD 2CH and like using the analog outs. Also, no phono preamp on...

Monolith by Monoprice HTP-1 16 Channel Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Home Theater Processor w/Dirac & Alexa Compatibility

I was referring to the analog gain stages. Some companies cut cost and convert single-ended between gain and/or summing stages.

Why I dislike traditional bass management

This is a good post and I agree with most of what you say here. However, Welti was first to prove strategic locations over randomly placed subwoofers is what makes for best seat to seat consistency and modal control. He also demonstrated there is little benefit beyond 4 subs in small rectangular...

Monolith by Monoprice HTP-1 16 Channel Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Home Theater Processor w/Dirac & Alexa Compatibility

It could still be single-ended between the stages and converted differentially in the output. I would ask them if the balanced topology remains from input to output with no conversion.

We just published a preview article with short Q&A from Monoprice on the HTP-1. see: https://www.audioholics.com/av-preamp-processor-reviews/monolith-htp-1

Monolith by Monoprice HTP-1 16 Channel Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Home Theater Processor w/Dirac & Alexa Compatibility

You're in a battle with thermal noise (aka. Johnson Noise) and will not be able to get much better than a 21-22dB noise floor until we move to super conductors. The Denon AVP-A1HDCI had about the best SNR and distortion measurements I've ever measured in any product regardless of price. But...

Monolith by Monoprice HTP-1 16 Channel Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Home Theater Processor w/Dirac & Alexa Compatibility

I'm discussing this product with the folks at Monoprice now and asking them to add a few things which they seem very open to. I was shocked to see them conjure up this product and they have some good backing as others have noted here. $1k cheaper than the RMC-1 is a nice touch and will certainly...

Bose: Legit Audio Company or Slick Marketing?

The fact that I sat in a Model 3 that was supposed to sticker in the $30's, actually was over $65k and had a very cheap feel to it, really turned me off. Almost the entire car is operated off a large touchscreen, which I absolutely hate. Subjectively, the car is ugly, especially the front of it...

Bose: Legit Audio Company or Slick Marketing?

The Model 3 I sat in had very cheap loose fitting plastic knobs and buttons. The seats are uncomfortable, and I don't like the giant screen instead of a center console with tactile buttons and dials. Also, the brakes were ho-hum on this car, Car&Driver and Consumer Reports noted it had longer...

They both look pretty good. Who would have thought we'd see the day where Korean car companies are making more compelling cars than their Japanese counterparts?

Try sitting in a Model 3 and bote the lack of quality of parts before making that decision. I'm very disappointed in Tesla.

I would only consider the Stinger with the turbo 6 and brembo brakes. That's a significant step up in performance to ANY Accord.

Bose: Legit Audio Company or Slick Marketing?

That's a good deal,if its 15k miles/yr. Yea, the Accord I drove prob had a wheel package that jacked the price up. They did look nice but wasted on a car like that. With more, power, it's a competent daily driver so the 2.0T is a must purchase IMO. Acura had the chance to take the 3G TL and...

Bose: Legit Audio Company or Slick Marketing?

I wasn't going by price when judging cars, though the 18 Accord I drove had a sticker of $36k and only 190hp. That's a rip off IMO. By the time you opt for the "larger" 2.0T 4cyl engine, you're probably up to $40k for a car that is so commonplace and bland. I seek cars that most people don't...

I wouldn't get an M240i as a primary car if you have a family. It's my fun car. Our family car is a Honda Odyessy. If you want performance in a larger sedan at a reasonable price, the Kia Stinger looks like the ticket. It has superior driver dynamics to anything Honda, Toyota, or Nissan is...

I'd love to see some measurements on that system and publish them as well. Not sure why you would keep it going while there are so many better viable alternatives that don't take up much more space. Even Orb Audio would be a big upgrade IMO. The 10yo Plasma is a keeper. I still use my 1080p...
